Fighters you like and don't know why

    Not too hard to like Liston. He's a lot less of a ******* than, say, Monzon. And plenty of people like Monzon.

    There was a stretch of time that I really rooted for Kevin Pompay. I know he was getting exposure on ESPN and I am sure that had a lot to do with me becoming a fan of his. But also the type of fighter he was and the fights he was in. Clearly limited in some aspects as a boxer but always working and "almost" there..just not enough. And thats the way the game goes.

    Ingemar Johannson. Can't really pinpoint why but he's my 2nd favorite HW behind Joe Frazier.

    Macho Man. Even when he was past his prime and ideal weight, I enjoyed watching him give a clinic to most opponents. It was pretty impressive to see a guy out of condition and no longer really serious about the sport retain such skills.

    Boxing ain't all about clobbering each other bloody. Sure, Camacho wasn't exciting toward the end. But I wished I could still box that way at my age.
