guys you have to remember that the ref didnt stop calzaghe because he wanted to help kessler he did it because joe kept on hitting mikkel in the back of his head during the whole fight. he starts this in the first round after 30 seconds go and put the dvd in the machine and see i am right joe should have been given a warning much earlier it was not a bad decision by the ref it was a fair and correct decision
Yes he was hurt, but he was also hurting Calzaghe.I think Kessler landed the heavier shots during the fight. But as always with Joe slaps score points and he throws loads so the typicl Calzage 12 round points win was in the bag as soon as he started using his throw thousands of slaps per round tactics that have served him so well.
Definately winced when the body shot hit him! Don't think he'd have taken a knee though, so it didn't really matter. Calzaghe mixed his shots well, soft flurrys putting in the hard shot here and there, Great fight.
Don't agree, It was the best show of boxing Calzaghe's put on in a long time, showing flashes of his old self before having to adapt to fighting with fragile hands and adopting the throw a thousand slaps a round tactics, as you put it.
I believe if he had'nt had a break he'd have gone down soon I think around rd 8 Calzhage was swarming him.:hi:
