p4p hopkins over mayweather?? i disagree....

Bhop cant be p4p over floyd for the simple fact the only guy he beat that was bigger then him was Tarver. Everybody else were smaller guys moving up to fight outside there prime or good weights. No way tito or ODH was any kind of middleweight. Taylor beat him the second fight and the first was a boring draw. But he is not over Floyd. He got the names but if you are the bigger man then how can you claim to be p4p if you aint fighting bigger guys. No way.

 

I just hope the fight happens I won't give Calzaghe a lot of credit for beating Hopkins, but there would at least be the chance to enlighten a lot of people to as how brilliant a boxer Joe Calzaghe is.

China_hand_Joe: Hopkins hasn't the stamin, the punch out put to compete with Joe Calzaghe, nor has he the power to hurt Calzaghe. Calzaghe can simply outwork Hopkins, irregardless of any skill diffrential. In short, Hopkins is too old at this point in time to compete with Joe Calzaghe. The thing is it will be Americans shouting out how Hopkins was an old man after the fight.

American fan: Who has Calzaghe ever beat? Hopkins beat Wright! Hopkins is too skilled!

American fan: Hopkins aged overnight, he was shot, that is how Calzaghe won.

I love Calzaghe, he is a great ****ing fighter. I was one of the few (european, american and otherwise) that picked him to beat Lacy and if he were to beat Hopkins, he would get all the credit in the world from me.

Its funny how all the anti Hop posters seem to bring up the age thing EVERY ****ING TIME HE FIGHTS...but when he lost to Taylor, none of the Hopkins fans used this as an excuse?

Grow a pair and formulate a real arguement please.

BTW....Hop UD....too good defensively and lightyears ahead of anyone Joe has ever shared a ring with (and yes, Im counting Eubank)....EVEN AT 40+!!!

He has had an unbelievable run at SMW. Dominating and impressive. But it doesnt hide the fact that he has fought far inferior competition than he should have.

Joe is one of my fav fighters....he is a joy to watch. A hell of an offensive fighter. I cant wait for him to beat Kessler (tho I still will have him at 3....seeing as how I feel Pacman will beat MAB) so this fight can happen.

If Calzaghe beats Kessler, then Hopkins early next year - Calzaghe will be climbing up most peoples' rankings as he drops places in mine as he declines with age.

It's hilarious how underrated Floyds resume is based on his time at 140lbs and fights at WW. Here's 3 names that Tarver couldn't carry their spit buckets:
Delahoya
Castillo
Corrales

And there are more on Floyds resume who I'd rate above Tarver. Wright on the other hand is one of the best boxers of this generation and is better than anyone Floyd has ever even talked about fighting.....although Hopkins did fight him 16lbs above his natural weight.

 

Hopkins doesn't get #1...No Way! He beat Wright at 170lbs, Wright is a 154lber who had a few at 160lbs only to find people who were man enough to fight him. This is "P4P" rankings. You don't move up that much for beating a much "smaller" man after making him pack on extra weight to slow him down for the fight. Not to mention Hops was getting badly out boxed early and was resorting to border-line embarassing and disgraceful tactics to wear Wright down.
