You cannot have Hagler above Duran. It's very hard to credibly defend.

HAgler was P4p king from 1983-1987..one of the glorious era in boxing..he is definetely under rated..he must be in the top 15 ..

Two of my all time favourite fighters, but Duran is ahead by a country mile in an ATG sense.

Duran's 135 career is easily an equal for Hagler's career at 160, and taking into account his achievements when he moved up through the weights, there is no comparison.

Let's not foget that Duran was ahead after 12 rounds when they fought. Amazing to think that a natural lightweight could more than hold his own with a top 3 All time middleweight.

I draw some comparisons between the careers of Hagler and Lewis (another favourite of mine). Both seemed to be denied title shots because of politics, both appeared to have 'off nights' on ocassions especially against lesser opponents, but two fighters who in a H2H sense are right up there in their respective divisions. No comparison in terms of chins mind!! :p

Marvin could barely beat a lightweight Duran, what would he do with one that had everything at lightweight:scaredas:

Duran dominated lightweight like Hagler did middleweight but Duran went on to achieve more at higher weights and fought a better calibre of opponent, I have Duran in my top ten, Hagler quite a bit lower.

Duran was one hell of a fighter... and he is above Hagler. Somebody hit the nail on the head when they said Durans pre leonard career is as good as Haglers. Not quite but add leonard cuevas, moore and Barkley and there is your wide gap.

I cannot think of any real reason to put hagler above duran even if you are a big fan

Duran for me. He was the # 1 or 2 lightweight, short time as a Welter but potent, Fought a great Middleweight to a close fight and beat the Super middleweight (who KO'd Hearns)...Duran was the best to out of the 70's

In aseros defense (I cant believe id ever say that) he changed his tune since he did this poll.

Check out his comprehensive top 200 alltime list and you will see he has Duran quite high and Marvin below him.
