You seem to be conflating "unproven" with "baseless." And there is nothing baseless about this- Margarito was forced to re-wrap his hands, evidence was seized, etc.

If there was'nt anything in the wraps besides tape and gauze this would'nt be an issue. Anyone here who has had a professional hand wrap knows that it makes your hands hard as hell anyway. A lot of judgement is being passed around here but I think that since there has been such a fuss proves that something is amiss. An opponent's corner making you rewrap your hands is fairly common but this type of thing is very odd.

AHAHAHA Funny! But before we start shouting that Marg is a Cheat! Lets wait to see what the final outcome is. And REGARDLESS of the outcome (Good or Bad) we have to take into consideration that Marg isn't the first to wrap his hands illegally While it should be frowned upon Tito Trinidad also got caught wraping his hands illegally as well. Marg should be held to the same kind of critisim that Tito got. Just b/c Marg isn't considered a "GREAT" in the sport doesn't mean he should be held to harsher punishment or cirtisim.

common sense people, sure they're analyzing that foreign substance now and a day or so we would have the results as it wouldn't take that long but, what else could that substance be? What else could it possibly be? Clearly it is something illegal and it does not comply with the rules of handwrapping hence they termed it a foreign substance. What they are doing now is determining the composition of the substance(identifying it in detail) so they can address some formalities regarding the issue.

so cut the crap with that unproven BS

what's up with the interview with dark glasses? It works in poker tournaments but not interviews about the truth.

Exactly...the only thing that is unproven is the chemical makeup. Apperently the evidence was in the wrap and it was seized...and it was hard. It doesnt take a rocket scientist or a judgemental person to use a little common sense...just a tad bit...to say hmm...the commision classified it as a foriegn substance...

If anyone cant understand that then either they are young...(not quite an adult) or mentally lacking... I'd be curious to see how you live if you are an adult and just don't get it... Do you typically end up a day late and a dollar short in your careers?

You need to understand that a lot of the gloating is a direct result of constant, unfair **** tossed at Floyd Mayweather - using Tony Margarito as the instrument. Some by Margo fans, others just jumping the bandwagon to criticise PBF. If a lot of the hardcore Mayweather haters had been more open-minded about his wishes to fight huge names like DLH at the time then there would not be this level of acrimony right now. People remember.

Why is this basic concept so difficult?? Simple. Because Zakman can never back down - even when utterly destroyed with evidence to the contrary of what he has claimed. Note his persistent silence on the fact that a foreign substance was bagged and removed. It matters not what that substance was at this point, aside from possibly influencing the length of the pending suspension. Given the established rules of what is and is not allowed to be used for wraps, this is simple stuff. There may be a slap on the wrist - but there has been permanent damage done to Margo's rep at bare minimum.

What Tito did was contravertial but legal, which is why he wasn't suspended, Tito was NEVER caught attempting to load his wraps with a foriegn substance, Margo isn't in the class of Tito in this area, he is another Panama Lewis IMO.

I may not post very often, but I've been reading these forums for years. I know all about the Mayweather hate you speak of. Fact is, unbridled hate is unbridled hate. Regardless of the source or target, it's still sad and pointless.

First, I'll say I'm on neither side of this debate. I will say however, that the number of stories coming out from this are so different its crazy. I've heard that substance was wet and was going to harden in the fight. I've heard that it was an actual hard chunk. I've heard that flakes of plasters came out of the wraps. I've heard that Naseem saw a lump, I've heard that Naseem had to feel the wraps to realize they were hard. All of these points have gone together in different variations to make the whole story. I think so far the thing that has been proven is that Media clearly doesn't takes its sources very seriously, they print whatever they hear from whoever they hear it. I was also reading an article on Yahoo where Naseem said he was unsure if Margarito knew about the foreign substance. It sounded like a get out of jail free card. Does anybody know if there is a history between Naseem and Margo's trainer? Why would he so easily leave the door open for Margarito to say that he didn't know?

There is two things in life that you need to learn:

1.) The Eastside Idiots don't need proof.

2.) Cast iron jaws are extremely rare.
