Is Mijares overrated?

Question is what do you mean by overrated. Everybody is overrated according to these boards when they lose, which is pretty stupid. He had an extremely strong win streak (Kawashima, Arce, Navarro, Munoz), and was beat by an awkward punching genious. Typically that kind of fight where the style favored the opponent, just like Vic vs. Donaire.

His speed, defense, skill level is still one of the best. Let's see how he comes back after the devastating loss. But, if the question is: was his P4P position overrated? Definitely not. He had a very good run.

 

Perhaps in a way...His record speaks for itself but how he dealt with Darchinyan was unexpected.
It wasnt just a from left field punch or a come from behind victory..It was domination from the opening bell.

I still seriously rate him but I was saying long before this loss that people were getting very carried away with the accolades.
Obviously you had a few idiots treating him like god, like the second coming of Robinson or something, it was the minority but it was vocal. Most people just saw him as a highly skilled technician worthy of being called one of the best in the world, which is just about how I saw it. Im going to go out of limb and predict he comes back from this and is a titlist by the end of the year.

Good fighter still..that hasnt changed for me.

he was overrated by some in here like Amsterdam but hes a good fighter.

 

Cept he wasnt unbeaten when Vic got to him. :think

 

His recent loss has put him back in perspective, so no. He is no longer overrated.

I will tell you whats overrated. Being UNDEFEATED!!!!! You can be easily undefeated if you fight the right fighters

 

Definitely was overrated. Only time will tell if he is still overrated.
