Exactly how does a loss affect your position in rankings (didn't find that in Kirk's rules thread)? More wins with more losses or less wins but less losses is better? Important as I don't know whether to pick a fight I have too little info on worth it or not.

Well KO's are VERY important. I don't believe it's in the rules, but I've seen Kirk mention that a guy with more KO's over less losses would get the bump. So I basically took that cornerstone and laid out somewhat of a formula. Go for the win...but in the words of Shane Mosley "Always go for the KO" It's best to get the win yes...because overtime, it will throw you higher in ranking. But if you can get the KO as well, even better... The KO rating is somewhat of how accurate you are in your predictions...more KO's means better accuracy, thus should be rewarded higher than someone with less KO's, but better wins... More importantly...what do these KO's consist of? Easy picks...you don't get the bump. An unlikely KO...you get the bump. Example: Last month...EVERYONE put Gamboa TKO...everyone got that KO...it was an easy one...and one that was lame. Same previous month...NO ONE put Mosley by KO...so if someone WOULD have put that down...their ranking would be significantly higher because of that prediction I also don't put people with significantly smaller records (although much cleaner) on top of those who have 3 to 4 fight predictions more... So experience counts for something as well.
KO and TKO don't matter the difference...it's in the rules... The decisions DO matter as far as specificity goes hat
