I wouldn't say the fight disappointed completely. The first half of the fight was fun to watch. Though the second half did become a monotonous and uninteresting. As far as Arce goes, I do agree that he's shot, and has been since he fought Mijares. Anyone who saw his fights with Tomas Rojas (where he got the **** kicked out of him every round before bailing himself out on a body shot) and the Thai fighter (who should have been awarded the decision) would more than likely would agree . Arce did look decent in spots against Concepcion, but I'm guessing that was his last hurrah. Tonight he looked completely burnt out. His balance was horrible and his punches had very little on them. With all that said, this shouldn't take away from Darchinyan's performance. He did what he had to do, and won the fight fair and square.
arce shot. typical!. arce lost because he was not as good as his opponent. that's it. the same thing would have happened no matter when they fought. yet more people who fail to give vic his due praise. it seems no matter who he beats it's just not good enough.
Too many wars for Arce been boxing pro since 16.. To many shots to the head and body. Great warrior, But def shot..
Firstly, I am a huge VIC fan. That said, I can see some times throughout his fights eg Mijares and Kirilov where he is wide open and ready for a counter (see Donaire) but the problem is, his opponents have already tasted the power and are hesitant to let go with their punches. The Mijares fight highlights many opportunities where this occurred - it's these things I want Vic to improve on, especially as he moves up the ranks. Once the power is felt, you look like you are a 'past your best' fighter - see Arce! Kirilov didn't want to get up when he clearly could and Mijares...we all saw what happened.
Vics moving his feet quicker than ever before, when he drops his hands, its not as dangerous as before - and if he was going to get knocked out dropping his hands - then I wouldve thought that it wouldve been tonight.. Vic was a class act, moving in and out at will, using his power when he chose to - and no doubt wouldve knocked out Arce in R12.. People dont forget that Vic is 32, he is no spring chicken himself, yet he seems to be improving his boxing skills since his defeat.. Alot of fighters make the same mistake as all us grand stand fighters and thats to see Vics style and assume he is a hack, then they get in the ring with him - and realise that they bit off more than they can chew.. Arce was never a threat tonight and if it went another round, would ppl still stay this fight was dissapointing??
the fight sucked because arce was sloppy and being beaten up ....i expected more of a give and take.....
beating donaire is enough. Arce lost that fight no excuses. Vic was clearly overpowering him in the end...this was that easy to predict.:yep
Shaw says it wont happen...something is keeping this fight from happening..Shaw's bloated ego. :tired
