Does it annoy you that the majority of everyday Aussies
havent heard of Vic Darcinyan - and almost all of them know
    who Mundine is?

This really annoys me, I was pumped for Vic fight, yet nearly
all the people I talked to hadnt even heard of him, yet if
I mentioned Mundine, they would crack a fat..

Vics probably going to go down as a HOFer and Mundine will
be remember by me as a wasted talent with no balls..

Vics 10 times bigger in America and Mundine isnt even heard
of over there, Go Vic.. your a true champion who has never
    dodged anyone, respect..

Dont let it get you down... the media thrive on negatives... Just watch the news each night mate, you will not see too many happy stories. Unfortunately, a fair amount of Mundine press is negative. Cant dismiss his ability, love watching him fight, however, negatives are generally in abundance via his mouth or actions. The press feeds him, he eats it.

Yep I was in port douglas and maybe 20 people in the bar looking at the fight and 1/2 were going for arce :patsch

I will be in the same pub for the Mundine fight and I bet at least 5 times the people will be there.

Does it annoy me....nup....more room to see the fight and less wait at the bar :yep

No it does annoy me that Vic and others dont get the media hype....maybe CH 10 in the years to come will sponsor boxing and put good aussie fights on.

honesty it is bad, vic has unified the 115lb division, when has that been done b4??? never. yet mundine will beat up some more argies or a washed up taylor but still get more coverage. so honestly i will let the media hype mundine all they want, i know who the best aussie fighter is, as do the majority of true aussie boxing fans. vic p4p # 6.

The real boxing fans know the truth. It is sad that the majority of people know little about one of the best boxers around today but its always going to be like that unfortunately.

Ive been a fan of this bloke since Aussie poster "MALTS" stabbed him out to me over on the main page about four years back and yes its a pity he dosen't get the props he's owed at home and on the world wide stage . saying tht during the last 18 months or so he has been getting more publicity worldwide . lets just hope he can attract a few decent names down under for you blokes so you get to see genuine world title fights again . Ps where is Malts these days last i heared he was going sailing in the Whitsunady's about six months back , Hope he ain't shark food .:good

look, vic is doing alright in OZ with the press

lets put some prospective on it, Vic fight in a light weight class which gerneral get less attention. he is fighting in USA as well and he not a born australian and speaks broken english. he is doing well now and making some good money as well.

Interesting that we are the die hard aussie boxing fans however the main forum has more THREADS than we do about VIC :huh

I think Vic is starting to get a little more exposure in Oz. Not long back he was a guest on the new wildworld of sports on ch9. Probably his English is a bit hard to understand so i'm guessing it probably hinders him doing more radio and tv interviews for the general population to hear. I think he will get more coverage after this fight.

a little but what can you do .i got the fight on and people asked whos he? when i told them what fight i was watching on sunday.VIC trash talks a bit but backes it up .mundine is probably more outlandish with his statements and gets in the papers more and on tv but they are giving his fights less and less exposure IMO these days i think people are catching on thats why he is so keen to get danny green out of retirement.
as for the people who crack a fat when you mention mundine i suggest you hang out with a different crowd .

Nah, boxing coverage is pretty average in Aust, Mundine will get more attention shooting his mouth off with stupidities, Vic will get respect if he keeps winning. I have plenty of mates who are now Vic fans, but I had to show them the fights, otherwise they never would have seen him. Many people just refuse to give boxing a go anyway, and when Mundine is all they hear about who can blame 'em. Vic's got plenty more to do, and plenty more potential fans, but it will just take some time.
I just might have to go to the airport tomorrow morning so Vic knows he does have some genuine fans.
