Things in decline: #POWER and timing. He just seems to not land those sweetly timed shots anymore. He lands, but they are always clubbing rights hands on the opponants ear. Things on the improve: #Workrate. It was better than usual, and if this fight is any guage, something he's looked to improve. #Endurance. He was always fit, but he could have gone all night and considering he threw more punches than usual, it was impressive. Things that remain the same: #Speed and lack on willingness to plant his feet and let go bombs.
He was just on the radio saying he was going to Germany to fight Sturm, even though I think he is on the decline I am excited that he is going to have a dig and take a chance. Good luck to him because he's up against it.
he looked good, I think he is just missing that little bit of power at 160, He has a big chance of beating strum
Mundine looked good last night at middleweight though it wasn't a fight where you would exactly dazzle. I think his power is something to definitely question given he hasn't ko'd anyone in his past 5 fights. He looked like he could do another 12 more rounds and looked more impressive as the fight went on. A bout with Sturm mid year will be a ******* and I reckon he's got the goods to win the title.
I totally agree. I don't agree with the posts that state he could go another 10 rounds. Not a chance, he was worn down, and his pitter patter punches were having less effect on an also gassed Taylor. His strength is woeful and as I said in another thread, the likes of Kessler or Calzaghe would destroy him today. Someone else mentioned his workrate was up, this I agree with, but having said that, it still wasn't enough to go with any A grade fighter. The accuracy of those small flurries is also pretty average. Roscoe, what you've said here is spot on, Mundine is just a B grade fighter. The proof is right in front of all us in his fight record.
strony / fit? he wouldn't have blown a candle out. not a fight you could dazzle? the dumb fuick stood in front of him all night if he can't knock him out he has no hope at middle weight. cannot beat sturm in germany, simple as that.
I agree. He needs GBP to enitce Sturm to the states as a main support bout to a big fight. I dont think Mundine can stop Sturm, so outpointing him in Germany is extremely unlikely as i think the fight will be close.
Mate did you hear GBP talking about Mundine.....we need to bring him on slow from kindy to grade 1, 2, 3.......its like they dont even know who he is or what rank he has......he is in line for the title shot. atschatsch I agree mundine in Germany to win on points.....going to be hard.....I dont think he can KO Sturm. BOX REC has Mundine at #3 :adminMW Also look for Sturm to take the AA fight and Mundine to be fighting for the vacant MW strap against Zibic in Sydney....Maybe Griffen in the US.
Just saw that - that's ****ing nuts, he hasn't even fought a true MW yet...but when you look at the top 20 (albeit Boxrec's top 20) you can see just how ****ing weak the MW division is outside of Pavlik and Abraham :-(
You picked the absolute worst photo Marcus. He looks like a 13 year old, hardly the sort of stuff to strike fear into his opponents.
