http://www.theage.com.au/news/sport/nervous-nellying-about-2010/2009/02/14/1234028354851.html PERENNIAL snooze-master Anthony Mundine is one of the very few prominent Australian boxers to make almost an entire career out of tune-up fights. There are formula one grand prix manufacturers that haven't seen this many tune-ups. Now he outclasses the mortal remains of Shannan Taylor, and Team Mundane lets us know he's finally set his world title sights on Felix Sturm?! Yes, resoundingly non-household name Felix Sturm, the oldest and least of the three major middleweight title-belt holders, and as ardently a stay-at-home German fighter as there has ever been. Why Sturm? Here's a quick statistical comparison that may provide a clue: WBC champ Kelly Pavlik (career KO percentage 85.7); IBF champ Arthur Abraham (82.1); WBA champ Felix Sturm (38.2). Realistically, Pavlik is the true world middleweight champ until proven otherwise, and Mundine is presumably as likely to ever go anywhere near him as he is to jump in a pit full of Joe Calzaghes.
Wow, that journo just made a total goose of himself. Is Sturm the lesser of the 3 middleweight champs? Yes, he is. But that does not mean he isnt good. To bag Sturm like that showed a blatent hatred for Mundine and nothing else.
My thoughts exactly! Every time Mundine fights, that journo has a go at Mundine in this column. Pretty weak, but I guess the guy needs stories to get paid and the majority of the readers will probably believe his dribble.
Havn't read much of the Leapsters stuff over the last few years but used to find him entertaining. On this occasion though hes way down the wrong track.
You don't think he has a point there with the KO percentages? Why did Muninde set his sights on Ottke, who was the IBF SMW champ, when Mundine was fighting for WBA-aligned belts? Could it be that it was because Ottke had such a low KO percentage compared to the other SMW champs at the time (Byron Mitchell and Joe Calzaghe)?

The beginning of the article is 100% accurate for mine. After that it becomes debatable. The writer is certainly trying to detract from a valid title-holder in Sturm, who's only lost to Oscar & Castillejo, which is unfair.
