Tyson Fury returns to the ring on February 28th against journeyman Daniel Peret (15-20, 6 KOs) at the Norwich Showground, Norwich, in Norfolk. Fury will likely have little trouble with the 35-year-old Peret, whos coming into this fight with five losses out of his last seven fights. At best, Peret will probably be little more than a punching bag for as long as the fight lasts. Peret, 6′0″ 258, is known for having an excellent chin and being able to take a substantial amount of punishment without going down. Unfortunately for him, his main weakness is his soft midsection Fury's Furious body shots will test him then....
No point for this fight unless they want Tyson to practice some things i.e. go a few more rounds. They still could have found a better opponent.
Its a decent test at this stage, Peret is game, he beat Belshaw, but Fury is fighting often which is good.
I bet Tyson Fury wont be happy he wants a british title bout soon but fighting people like him wont get it and is it not a step back from Zellar who had a 21-4 record and 20 kos or something like it
not exactly this guy althougth not a big threat is very durable and as mentioned went the distance with chisora wh0 is a big guy as well. I think they are hoping fury will stop him and send a message out to the other british heavyweights.
I suppose its a win win unless of course he loses i cant wait till fury meets price what a fight that will b again
I think this is a decent enough test for him. Whilst he probably isn't as big a puncher as the German, he can obviously take a shot, having taken Chisora the distance recently and never even looked like getting stopped IMO. If Fury can either stop him, or hurt him a few times, it would give a fair indication of where he is at currently. After this I would get him in the Froch Taylor card against somebody with a similar record.... or even have him in Germany for a few weeks instead getting in some quality sparring........ Then Audley.
I refuse to get on the Fury hype train till he loses the fat. Fat guys do nothing for boxing. I'd guess this fight is just about getting through the rounds which he needs to do.
True. If he is fighting often then the odd filler fight is fine by me. I'd prefer he fights a little less but has a steeper learning curve. He is fat and that needs to go. No excuse for that unless genetically you can't shift i.e. Don Cockell.
