And the fact that its off right now ??

  2. NO- There shouldn't have been consideration for a rematch, the 1st fight wasn't even competitive, Dawson beat his ass.
The only reason i would like to see a rematch is to see Tarver KO'D:D

    No.

    Dawson needs better opponents.

Calzaghe is retired and a Hopkins fight is unrealistic.

He should be rematching Johnson and Adamek instead of Tarver right now. Those are good fights which are meaningful for their respective divisions.

    No.

Pointless rematch, obviously Chad's not at fault as there was clearly a rematch clause activated, but it was just an obstacle in the way of a potential unification or big fight for Chad. He easily won the first fight, and would of won the 2nd even easier.

I'm glad it's cancelled, hopefully we might now see Chad v Woods. :smile :yep

  7. Kessler would give Dawson a tougher fight than milkdud Tarver:rasta..

    Calzaghe is retired..
Tarver is 40 and can't compete at the top level anymore..
    Roy jones is shot..
Glen Johnson -should get a rematch, but i doubt Dawson wants to go thru that hell again, besides Glen never has really been a draw:-(..

The only logical match i can see is DAWSON-KESSELER..

I like Tony Tarver but he's old at age 40......... Tarver was in great shape for Chadwick Dawson last time around..... But, he was a hair or two too slow..... Age is now a factor for Tarver....... The 20 something Dawson will again outbox the aging ex-champ.......

Light heavyweight looked awesome a year or so ago. You had Tarver coming back looking to get a belt, Johnson still looking decent, Calzaghe moving up and Hopkins still very much at the top, Jones Jr coming back with 3 wins in a row, Woods looking very good and then Dawson emerging nicely.

Now you've got Calzaghe retired, Hopkins heading there, Johnson looking pretty much ready for retirement too with poor matches, Tarver looking **** claiming the IBF belt, and then schooled by Dawson, Woods even worse in that match-up with Tarver, though he's sort of comeback since, and Jones looking finished against Calzaghe, leaving Dawson as really the only very good fighter at the weight.

I was going to watch it, but not really excited about it. Glen Johnson deserves the rematch.

NO! But now that Joe has bowed out, it's the only worth of sh-t fight for bad chad. I was just thinking about that before this thread. Weird! Chad
will have to take on danderous nondescript oppoents while rebuilding the 175 division. If Chad was smart he'd drop to 168 and have a go with kessler. To me that is a more worthy and legacy building fight for chad
than a rematch with tarver or johnson. Much less a scrap with a very
dangerous, but unknown shaun george. Or a zsolt erdei or hugo garay.
Nard won't fight chad, so there just aren't alot of options open for one
of the most talented and hungry guys in the whole sport. Damn shame!

And if adamek weren't the cruiserweight champ he'd probably take chad up on that. For ****s sakes. Keep up w/ the soprt or don't post.

Fight Clinton Woods Chad, if you beat Britains second best LHW in style maybe you could coax Joe out.
