Could anyone who ever fought at 130-140 have stopped Chavez?

Juan Urango is too crude and basic to beat an elite fighter like JCC. JCC by wide UD or late round TKO.

once you watch JCC fight Rosario - and Rosario was a beast! - you will never pick against JCC fighting anyone near his weight class, in his prime. He was an absolute monster.

That's my favorite Chavez fight but I still would be hesitant to pick Chavez over Duran and Whitaker at 135.

imho Chavez throws too many punches for Pea to duck all night, too quick and too hard. Pea would have to fight him at some point and I don't think he wins that battle. Duran would be a war but I'm picking JCC by decision, I believe Duran would stand toe-to-toe with JCC and his punch output would drop as the bodypunches started to tell.

Just imho. Other opinions may vary...

In boxing, Anyone is capable of being KO'd if they get caught with the proper shot.

Since the thread mentions 'stopped' as well, there are ways to stop a fighter without the 10 count.

(Overwhelmed and not defending, cut too badly, etc.)

While there is no match-up I can think of where I would predict a stoppage of Chavez, the following fighters could pull it off:

    Tszyu
    Mosley
    Duran
    Pryor
    Arguello

I dont think its an unreasonable opinion either..As Chavez was a true great in every sense of the word at that weight range.

Personally I would pick Pea, Duran and Ortiz over him with out to much hesitation. Guys like Ross, Armstrong and Williams could be argued over him also..But Ive also heard solid arguements for your view of it aswell.

Valero! Valero IMHO has unbelievable power in both hands that can stop even the elites at 130-140 but if he couldn't do that to JCC in two rounds then he could kiss him good bye!:lol::lol:

Juan Urango, Ricardo Torres, etc...... OMG this thread is full of idiots! These aren't even elite fighters but they can stop one of the greatest of all time! HAHAHAHAHA!

Arguello, Pryor, Duran and Mosley are valid but in IMO nobody can stop Chavez at 135, beat him yes, but stop, no.

My middle finger to all the ******s is how many times Chavez was dropped in about 90 something fights!

I think Mosely could've done it.

Sugar was one of the greatest lightweights ever in my opinion.

Well Urango has a seemingly sturdy ass chin as well as build. A massive puncher and only lost because of his shitty ass arsenal and skillset.

But again. The punching power and chin are there.

I can see Chavez avoiding a brawl with this guy and simply going for a points win. An all out war with Urango IMHO would be a very stupid idea.

I'm in no way comparing Ngoudjo to the great JCC, but he's pretty slick and seasoned and he broke his ass DOWN! And he's fought some nasty punchers before.

Although Urango has stamina issues as well...But I think it's not completely out of the picture. I've never seen Urango even remotely hurt at all so the idea that Chavez can KO him is a bit on the lower ends of possibilites...

But I agree with the poster that said too crude and raw for Chavez...
