for those following his career he is in action tommorow night in california against Ivan Stovall .not on tv though .
I'm glad this fight is finally going through after many cancellations. Stovalls no push over, he'd be at British level over here easily and has never been knocked out pro or am or KD'ed if I remember rightly. Toughie, but Craig should have enough to secure a points win.
I havn't seen much of McEwan is he rated highly. He must have some tools if golden boy signed him. Any info :huh
Think Stovall was stopped in the second round a few fight's ago mate according to boxrec anyway, Craig should manage a points win, only thing with Craig is he doesnt like getting roughed up and this little guy look's like he may be good in that department.
The level of opposition McEwan fights is awful. Can you imagine the stick he would get if he was with Warren? Hope he wins though.
I saw him on the Mosley Mayorga undercard. His opponent was game and tough. Mcewan lacked defence needs more upper body movement and block more but he did put some good combinations together.
I agree mate wont do him any good, he's managed to stop 6 of them and he's not a pucher so they must be bad.
I don't think McEwan's opponents have been that bad considering the fact that he has only been a pro for 2 and a half years and had just 13 fights. Erik Rafael Esquivel wasn't a terrible opponent in my opinion.:bart He was the mexican middleweight champion a few years ago, he won the title by knocking out a 13-0 prospect and when he did lose his title it was to the world class marco antonio rubio when he was stopped in the 9th round. Esquivel's record also wasn't that bad going in to the fight, he was 16-6-1 with 13 of his wins coming by way of KO. McEwan was 9-0-0 at the time. It sounded as if McEwan had it all his own way last night against Ivan Stovall, but I would also say that Stovall, like Esquivel, wasn't completely useless either. Ivan was a top amateur fighter in the States (He almost made the olympics losing in the olympic trials) and has also done hundreds of rounds of sparring with the likes of Kessler & Margarito. His record going into the bout last night was 10-2 (7 ko's) with one of his defeats coming against the undefeated prospect James Parison. In that fight Stovall floored Parison and lost a razor thin majority decision.:bbb Look at who Darren Barker beat in his first 13 pro fights in comparison http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=267609&cat=boxer
