Clottey visited Cotto's post press conference and directly challenged him.
Cotto accepted and said he hopes it works out with the company.
I would say to Clottey, " be careful what you wish for "

Clottey ......Cotto will tear you a new one ....
I think Clottey is too rigid, tense and lacks fluidity and power.
What are your thoughts on this potential fight in June?

I'd be very excited to hear this fight get made. I'm a fan of both fighters for one and it would also go a long way to help decipher supremacy at 147. Josh Clottey would give anyone trouble at 147 and 154 imo but in the end I'd favor Cotto by UD based on a better work rate.

I told you guys right after Margo was revoked that this fight would happen...

Clottey will beat Cotto, its a bad fight...Beatting this bum did nothing for cotto's confidence, hell he didnt even want to fight the guy because he was so bad. Cotto should fight Berto, or Collazo first, those are the kinds of fights he need right now.

Not surprising as Clottey is sick and ****ing tired of being left out of the whole Top Rank equation. And he knows that Cotto is too proud of a fighter to turn down a direct challenge like that.

As far as tearing someone a new one... Are you basing that on his performance against Jennings?

I'm taking Clottey by KO9. Cotto's body attack will do absolutely nothing to Clottey. He's a ****in tank. If Cotto thought he was a little discouraged at his lack of ability to hurt Margarito, wait until he faces someone with a better chin than Margo. And Clottey doesn't have monster power, but he has enough to reach Cotto. Cotto has been hurt by every elite Welter, and I don't see any reason that stops with Clottey.

Cotto's only hope is if he can take advantage of Clottey's stamina issues. But Cotto doesn't exactly have the greatest stamina either.

co-sign, he's a good fighter but he's never been an elite, he's brings nothing to the table Cotto aint seen before, but this'll be a good win on Cotto's resume, good news

Clottey has more talent then Cotto. Yep I said it. What does that mean excatly?

Physically he can match Cotto's speed for speed. His blows are just as crisp and clean if not more. He's an excellent counter puncher and athlete, just as Cotto is. He has a far better defense then Cotto. I think he is also a SMARTER fighter then Cotto, -- he has a rare ability to think in the ring, see what is going on, and adjust his tactics midaction -- most guys need thier trainer for this, to see what is going on and let them know how to adjust.

Now the flipside is his mental strength. His critics rightly point to times where he can stay within his comfortzone which is that defensive shell, for long periods of times. His detractors claim that he is not strong mentally. He has to open up to come up with what would be a rugged, counter-punching galore, to attain victory from Cotto.

I think that this is one opponent of Cotto who holds the better cards and has the stronger hand. A flush against a fullhouse, they will be raising and reraising and reraising thier bets in this fight. But the question is with Clottey will he fold, does he have the confidence and balls to do what he has to do to win, because he certainly can.

it would be good to finally see some welterweight unification which by the way when was the last time WW had a unified champ?

Anyway Clottey has good D but i expect Cotto to outwork him and get the UD and add another belt and hopefully fight Mosley in winter to have an Undisputed WW champ but Clottey is no easy task and will be a tough fight.

Clottey has demonstrated a enough toughness to stand up to cotto, enough boxing ability to hang with him, and enough power to hurt him. So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this should be a good fight. I say bring it on.

I'd also favor Cotto in this match. I'd probably favor Clottey if he was more active in the fight but after the 1st half, he noticebly slows down. That's really the only knock I have against Clottey. It will make for a great fight anyway.

joshua would be a live underdogg and a win would be ****ing HUGE!

i'd still fancy cotto by UD but can't help visualizing josh hurting cotto in a exchange outta nowhere & stopping him.
