Hopefully Adamek has studied him plenty & knows what he's up against! Interesting point on size. Banks does look big, whereas Adamek was big only at light heavy really. This could be interesting as Adamek was hurt by light hitting cruiser Cunningham (though he responded well, and scored the fight's only knockdowns). I go for Adamek on experience and toughness. Hopefully Banks lands some bombs and makes it a wildly exciting slugfest. Re Banks-Rossito. Banks was out of shape, in that terrible performance. Rossito definitely was spoiling, and he went 12 hard rds with Fragomeni, now the WBC champ. Rossito was blasted out by David Haye, when Haye was at his healthiest and fastest at cruiser (before Haye was overmuscled & drained). Rossito DID take that fight at 3 weeks' notice so perhaps he is better than he seems.
It is still in the works. He is definately fighting Braithwaite. You can take that to the bank. They are working out the venue, tv..ect. The early word is that the tv market is not interested in picking this fight up. And that is a shame that these people don't see that this can be a great fight. This fight is atleast tv undercard worthy. There is no reulctance in Cunningham. It has more to do with Don King and Steve's contract coming to an end. So there is a lot more being worked out then what you may read. Who's going to the fights this Friday night? Anyone?
Getting jerked around is what Con King does best.Adamek lost well over a year worth of potential fights and money because that ******* simply wouldnt make a fight. Dont be surprised if Steve get's put on a shelf. His best bet is to get away.
No he has to fight by the end of March or Don is breach of contract. They may be a 30 day grace period with that. With that said I don't think he is allowed to contact anyone about a new contract until his expired. But talking about this Friday night's fight I do hope Adamek pulls the victory out. I would hate to leave that areana with 9,000 pissed off Polish people..LOL I may be ringside for this one.
I think Adamek's takes this by decision. Adamek is the boxer/puncher to Banks' puncher. Adamek should be able to outwork him while his iron chin will serve well if Banks does get through. Adamek UD.
you guys think Hearns could do well with Adamek? Crazy question I know, but Hearns mentioned one last fight and in Europe. Scary to think about him fighting that level at 50 years old.
Sorry to say, but i think you guys might be very dissapointed after the fight. Although I like Adamek more, the punches that he is most vunerable to, Banks throws really well and he hits hard as ****. Dont let his last fight fool you, he is usually in pretty good shape. I'm not sure, however, if he can deal with Adamek past the mid point of the fight because he has not yet shown the ability to get stronger during the second wind period and Tomasz has been able to demonstrate knockout power late in fights. I can't wait, it should be really exciting. All bets are off
I hope Cunningham isn't forgotten by TV and inactive. Cunningham-Braithwaite would have been perfect for an undercard fight. It must be hard for fighters like Cunningham. He has the skills, but the lakc of power means he has to grind out most wins. He's veyr good, but doesn't seem to have a following. He is in the Paul Briggs situation. Another quality underrated fighter. In other words, he hasn't caught on, in the way that Adamek has found an audience in the Chicago area. Adamek is more likely to get the benefit of the doubt, though he well deserved that win over Cunningham. I think with the recession, with the bad economy, fantastic, value for money fighters like Adamek will get TV opportunities as he is in this case. Fighters who are almost as good as him, maybe as good like Cunningham and Briggs, have an extra strike against them. It's harder for them to stay busy, harder to make the money.
Ding, do you have any details of Banks' last fight? Ppl say he was out of shape, and he looked out of shape. Did he take the fight late notice, did he have problems? I agree with you. Adamek has had the long, hard fights. He has that fitness, he can suck in up in the middle of the fight. Banks has never had to do that. I think Banks will look strong early on, but that Adamek will really take over late. UD or late stoppage.
everything is against Adamek in here - unbeten prospect , Steward, Klitschkos, Showtime......plus only 6 weeks for the preparation for the champ.... But I pick Adamek anyway..
