Very interesting fight. Clottey deserves the fight, he's so overlooked and sidelined, that this is the fight to show (again) he's actually on the level of the current elite.

You definitely could be right here. Cotto needs another fight before another hard-chinned puncher like Clottey. Berto maybe. Collazo may be good, because he has caused a lot of guys trouble. Cintron would be good, that glass-jawed squealer is exactly the kind of guy Cotto needs to KTFO. It will test Cotto's chin, but Cotto will get to him.

Cotto, for your own good, stay away from granite-chinned come-forward types like AM. At least when he fought SSM, he was boxing well and SSM couldn't get to him.

Don't worry about that . . . Berto is next . . . in fact he maybe first before Clottey.

    Exactly!

That's the **** that pisses me off with boxing sometimes, and now even the fans seem like they are condoning that bull****. He's a champ. He has a belt. Let him fight another champ. All this tiptoe ***** **** until he can find his confidence is a bunch of bull****.

Cotto says he's mentally stronger now.... **** it. Get in there with Joshua or Shane and win another strap from one of the elite.

Clottey is dangerous and a fight with Cotto would be competitive..Clottey will come in to the ring at 166-170 on fight night...I doubt he "tears Clottey a new one. Cotto may win but it won't be 1 sided!:bbb

Clottey would be a solid 166 for this fight. No doubt. And Cotto's body attack will be ****in useless. He aint gonna be buckling him in half with crushing body blows like Michael Jennings. :nono

Best bet for Cotto is to use his superior footwork and try to win rounds early, so that Clottey will be forced to come after him in the later rounds.

Clottey beats Cotto. He is a big welterweight and would eventually wear Cotto down. He'd either stop him late or take over the late rounds, this is a bad style match up for Cotto. I'd be a bit surprised if this fight happens. Arum wants to keep Cotto on a roll so he can fight the winner of Pacquaio-Hatton, that's a bigger payday and a more winnable fight for Cotto. I think Cintron will get the call here and Clottey will, again, be on the outside.

Whether Cotto wants him to be or not, Arum is and always has been very protective of him. I would be quite surprised to see this happen. Talk about high risk low reward.

Clottey is a big tough guy, Cotto isn't fighting another Jennings here.
