Judge for yourself. Casamayor vs Corrales I..the stoppage

women have no place in the sport of boxing....

its a sport of warriors and brutality and women have historically never been either of those 2... i would have demanded a rematch

 

I don't have any issues with that stoppage.

 

You do realize the rematch happened a few months later

After that fight and that stoppage a rematch was basically self ordered,regardless of anybody wanting it.

 

Corrales wanted another round... no surprises there though. But we have to trust that the doctor knows best and she was pretty firm about it.

 

That was a horrific injury. It had to be stopped. Boxing is often a tough luck sport. But Diego did live to fight another day, and had his most exciting performances afterwards.

 

The fight should have definitely continued. I still remember the doctor that Corrales went to expressed his surprise that they actually stopped the fight because of that.

 

i would have gave him one more round and stopped it once his lip was hanging off lol...corrales was more danger when hurt and he couldve banged with a right...he had casamayor reeling at the end of the 6th.... we will never know....

Bad stoppage. That's why we don't need a ****in girly doctor for a boxing match. Women belong in the kitchen, not in boxing. Look how Corrales got jobbed because of that *****. Many things could have been different if Chico were allowed to continue. He was starting to come on and landing the damaging punches, hurting Casamyor. IT's similiar to Lewis/Vitali... Casa would have been knocked out.

 

I would have given him that one more round. A cut inside the mouth is extremly dangerous because over the course of the fight the fighter can lose a lot of blood and swallow a lot of his own blood. THis cut had not been there for the whole fight and 3 more minutes was not going to equal a gall;on of blood being swallowed. Not to mention that Corrales had landed some really big shots in the preceeding round and gave signs that he may be able to make something out of that one round.

Far from the worst stoppage given how bad the injury was, but damn would that last round have been incredible.
