Another great post. Most hate him because they've never seen him out boxed, knocked down, take a loss or humbled in the ring. The Roy Jones comparison is an excellent one. Who was hated on just like PBF was. Roy stuck around too long and finally lost and after that they destroyed his legacy saying he was nothing more than a glass jawed bum who wasn't anything to begin with. One thing I can guarantee, Cotto & AM will never accomplish the things PBF did. Those guys weren't on the p4p lists for 10yrs. Those guys weren't champs in their second years as a pro. Those guys weren't ATG's at the age of 26

 

I have to disagree with you on that one...Me and couple of my homeboys love watching old tapes of Mayweather...Some people tend to enjoy the art of the "sweet science" Hitting without being hit...Many people can put on a pair of boxing gloves and go to war but only a few can perform the sweet science...I guess its up to your flavor of fighting styles...Dont get me wrong we love to watch an all out-brawl but we do love watching a masterful boxing lesson!

 

Corrales was the 2nd best at 130, DLH was the best at 154, and Hatton was and still the best at 140. plus there all HOFmers...so what are you trying to say???

Exactly. Roy stuck around long enough(past his prime/weight drain issue) to take a real L. On top of that he was KO'd twice. Ever since then, he's just been an embarrassment. Roy & PBF are very comparable. In their prime days, they just couldn't be touched.
