    Yes i've noticed that. But i find it rather strange.....wasn't he one of the most defensively gifted fighters of all time and didn't get hit too much?

    Nah he got hit.. he fought well past his prime but was still good defensively. Certainly doesn't justify him having slurred speech.. probably more to do with the drugs.

    One of the greatest resume's of all time, and he ended up with raging dementia, strapped to a bed covered in his own ****, the prisoner of strange relatives. **** knows what happened there.

    Joe Louis is probably the most heart wrenching of all times, but imo, since I been a kid watching as a fan, Mike Tyson's kayo at the hands of Lennox Lewis and then later by Williams and then by McBride, shortly followed by the "world tour" that only started and ended in Youngstown, Ohio...made me cry...

    Yea i notice that people are still bringing up the same old tired names, Taylor, Mccllean:huhetc,, but nobody has mentioned big John Tate OLympic gold medal winner in 1976, former Heavyweight champion of the World, WHO ENDED UP HOMELESS:patsch , and died tragically in a 1998 car accident..

    I read about that guy in Boxing Confidential, I think the guy that interviewed him noticed that his hand was cut to **** and the reason was his relatives had starved the poor ******* and tormented him by giving him canned food but no can opener and he cut himself trying to get the food from the tin. Tragic story.

    Sonny Liston needs a mention in this thread too, a much misunderstood champion from all I've read about him.

    McClellan, Watson and all others who suffered horrific injuries or even death. Also the obvious ones Tyson, Ali Holmes etc who fought out of economic necessity. De La Haoya's pityful whimper of a performance also gets a shout unless he redeems himself in a final farewell.
