Be honest, how many brothers have ever fought eachother in the RING. It will never happen, and if it did it would be a boaring ass sparing event and someone might just take a dive.
good thread...its a terrible state of affairs with these belts... not to mention holyfield being moved from 45 to 13 so he could get a shot at valuev... it stinks.
See fighters used to fight, but they got tired of getting robbed, and lawyers got hip to the game and started being promoters, and fighters started being promoters; and now we have 75 chiefs and no Indians so whose going to fight? I went to school for 11 years to become a psychologist, and make 75k a year so over my lifetime of work 30 years I'd make 2,250,000 that's a top ten contender monies, and they won't fight each other and boxing is political and some good fighters get left behind.
from an outsiders perspective - its not better than the Major League baseball "World Series"......a world series that only involves American teams is a bit odd. having said that, if you know anything about who the REAL cahmp of any division is,belts mean sweet **** all
The fact that there multiple belts sucks at the best of times, but it looks particularly ridiculous when a division is as weak as the heavyweight division is. Valuev proved that he certainly isn't even close to being worthy to be called champion, and how many times do we have to be subjected to a John Ruiz clinchfest in a so called title bout. But sadly, all the bitching over the years about the multiple belts hasn't done much good. So we can all look forward to the possibility of John Ruiz being hailed as a world champion again. Ughhh.
