I remember my dad being a huge fan of chavez. thats all he used to talk about, and my earliest memories are of dlh/jcc and the holyfield tyson fights. P.S. Why does everyone love to hate tyson? When most fighters lose its "He fought his heart out but got beat by the better man." or "What a great fight but (boxer) he went out on his shield." When its Tyson its"I saw him get ass KTFOd, or put on his ass, or get his ass kicked by Buster Douglas." It seems like everyone hated the fact that he was doing good and they were just waiting for him to lose so they stand at the sidelines and say "I knew he was gonna get destroyed" instead of respecting any fighter who steps in the ring.

I remember watching Pemberton Sheika on ESPN and it was a good fight. After that I was hooked. Lewis VK may have been before or after but I remember that because of the cut.

The first fight I remember watching was Ali-Spinks 1.

The first fight I remember being affected by was Tate-Weaver. Tate being way up and just getting crushed in the 15th round. I was crushed. Couldn't believe it.

The fight that turned me into a boxing fanatic, though, was Holyfield-Dokes. After that I couldn't get enough of boxing.

in the early 70s there were fights televised on the local spanish channel every friday night from mexico city. my family would get together with the neighbors living in the duplex next to us and we would bet nickels and dimes on the fights. i must have been 6 or 7 and i have loved the sport ever since. the big fights back then were real events attended by lots of stars from hollywood and sports, politicians and other big fighters.

My very first boxing memory was one of the greatest fights that was ever made.

Leonard vs. Hearns I, wow! what a fight!

I was a toddler and i saw it with my dad in Puerto Rico, one of my fondest memories as a kid.

Bowe-Holyfield 1. I was still in middle school at the time. I wasn't much of a boxing fan back then but i remember watching that fight. It was one of the best fight i've seen in a long time.

    That had to be something!

Hmmm Tyson-McBride unfortunately was my first actual live boxing viewing that I cared about. But I had indeed seen other boxing matches on TV before that =P
