    i like the bit where buncy says your pro career started well , you wone the british , then kirk after a pause says " i did dinta " . i do wish someone would write a book about him about him then maybee a film , what stories he could tell . how is he now ? the last i heard he had a bad fall not long after this piece on him

    From the early sixties:

    Jim Cooper, Teddy Haynes, Dave Charnley, Dave Coventry,
    Frankie Taylor, Jackie Brown, and Brian Cartwright.

    Then there were those third men in the ring such as
    Harry Gibbs, Mickey Fox, Pat Floyd, Bill Williams,
    Wally Thom, Ike Powell, and Jack Hart.

    Many will remember Wally Thom as a boxer.

    in 1976/77? two of the lads from our club fought against a canadian team at park hall hotel in lancashire.i'm sure one of them carried our flag into the ring.

    I wonder if any of the English boxers that toured Canada in 1976
    are staying connected to the sport.
