the ledwaba win put pac on the radar, the barrera win made him a star, the morales win is his defining moment imo...not only did he avenge his loss but he ko'd someone who was never down before and puts him on another level...
As far as outboxing an opponent goes that one was a boxing masterclass. You shouldn't expect a warrior like Larios to get knocked out early.
nah pac's punches just took its toll and made morales look like a war torn fighter...the punch that morales took in the second round that made him hold on the rope placed doubt in his mind and when you start doubting, everything in you weakens...
I don't know where you're coming from . . . but the fact is . . . it was after the MAB fight that Pac got the other big names . . . we are talking of "most defining fight". When I said nobody . . . I mean . . . he was just a regular 122 title holder climbing up to 126.
not only that, but the 1 dimentional unknown pac straight up annihilated a top 10 p4p in his prime/late prime.
I dont think there is any question that to date, the MAB victory is Pac's defiining victory.....he beat MAB every which way......he not only pummeled MAB, he outmanuevered and outboxed him imo..... .....I've heard from posters here that MAB would have done better if he strictly boxed Pac the first fight.....but I dont think so.......MAB tried to box when things were'nt going his way, but he just did'nt have any answers for Pac who was to quick, too fast, and to strong. On a side note......the thinking by most is that DLH physically whacked at the weight he came in..... Its my thinking too.......but I'm open to change my mind on this issue if Pac is anywhere close to dominating Ricky Hatton..... A dominant victory over Hatton or even a clear victory, I believe puts the DLH fight into better perspective to the fact of whether Pac's domination was more attributable to DLH's physical state, or if it had more to do with just how great Pac was that night than DLH being that bad. If Pac dominates Hatton, I believe the DLH fight may at the end of Pac's career, turn out to be Pac's defining fight.
Pac hadn't done much up to that point. He had two KO losses on his record with a draw to Sanchez and was only a titlist at 122 but had an impressive run even if his resume did lack names. Pac also received a long count against Hussain but against MAB he turned into a machine and dominated. I think its his best win.
He may have been a nobody to the casual fans......but Pac's name even before the MAB fight was coming up in boxing talk radio shows that I heard back then like Rich Marrotta's KFI radio show. .....respected boxing journalist we're in the know that Pac was'nt just a regular stay busy type of fight for him. Pac was a live dog, for that MAB fight!
