I know this has been touched on in other threads but with the fight being held here in Britain I have a real concern that the fight will be stopped early in favour of Khan.

I can see it now Khan flows a flurry of unanswered punches and the ref steps in much like Calzaghe v Manfredo except of course Barrera is no Manfredo.

    The forums thoughts please.

There was no great mystery or conspiracy to Calzaghe v Manfredo. The referee saw a fighter that was woefully overmatched and had no way to actually win and looked for the first opportunity to call off the contest.

Therefore the fact that MAB is 'no Manfredo' naturally mitigates against a smiliar thing happening.

MAB comes out sure that he will blast this young guy out of the water, he is stalking him and looking for the ko, Khan catches him with a lightening right hand, MAB is on unsteady legs, Khan rushes in for the kill and opens up with a 10 punch combo, MAB is down and the count is reaching 8, 9, 10. It's all over. Khan has revitalised his career with a 'legendary' win.

I can see it happening ala Graham Earl :)

I really can see anything happening given the match up of youth v age, boxer v brawler, big guy v small guy etc

I hope that bloody cut does'nt open up.

Barrera hates cut's and it will put him off hsi game plan and cause him to lose focus.

I can't see an overly early stoppage like Manfredo who had frozen pretty much the whole fight. While he was in no way hurt he was offering nothing.

Barrera even if he's shot will know enough to fiddle his way through, or spit gumshield out or throw a low blow or whatever.

    The cut's another story though.

    Who's the ref btw?

nah berrera's no manfredo, he'll be too busy. plus he's a legend, i cant see any refs being quick to jump in to stop it, no matter how bad some of our refs are. they should have asked mickey to do one more night before he retired.

theres a quite simple reason why this fight wont be stopped in the manner you describe. Its because if khan tries to unleash on MAB he will fight back unlike manfredo. MAB even though old and clearly past prime can still fight if he has to. Besides hes too proud to let someone stop the fight.

barrera will know everything about khans speed and power he will have a game plan, i doubt barrera will stand toe to toe with khan, don't know what khans going to do if barrera's still there after 7-8 rounds.

To spell a legends name incorrectly once, then you're forgiven. A second time is down right ******ed...a third time is simply inexcusable.
