I am aware, but to be honest, given that Zuniga is a MW fighting at SMW, Bute really SHOULD stop him. If he doesn't, I'll be disappointed, if I'm honest. Bute's stopped better fighters who were true SMWs...(I'm thinking of Berrio...yeah...I know, he's chinny, but still...the body punch can take anyone out...even Andrade.):good

Bute should of course win. I really think Zuniga will come out strong, he probably realises what he has to do having seen the fight against Andrade. He needs to constantly pressure Bute and hope for the rewards later in the fight. This is why I always believed this was a good fight for Bute as its a warm up for Andrade II.

Ultimately it will come down to the fact Zuniga is not Andrade. He's not as big, he's not as strong, he's not got the same relentlessness, and I don't think he can take quite as much punishment from a big super middle and keep coming.

I think he might hang in there to hear a decision. Bute by 4 or more.

I've been predicting 116-112 all along, and it's a GREAT fight for a kid with only 23 outings.

i think bute will fight within himself especially in the first half of the fight and as his confidence grows , increase the dominance in each round.

bute`s length/handspeed/combo`s and southpaw style IMO will give zuniga fits trying to land more than 1 punch at a time and bute will make zuniga look limited .

i expect a 119-109 points win for bute given that the first round nothing happens and the first 3 are cautious affairs before bute takes over and sweeps round after round.

zuniga when he fought inkin ,fought in slow motion as the rounds wore on and if bute cannot look good against this style and type of fighter, he is not the fighter i think he is , albeit sometimes bute fights in second and third gear in fights when he should be upping his tempo.

bute is simply to skillfull /fast to be troubled by a zuniga type fighter.

at least he should be, mentally i have not factored in and that is zuniga`s best chance, that bute is either gunshy or hesitent and low workrate.

technically/skillwise /speed of hand and foot / zuniga is not in bute`s class which is what i expect to see.

I agree! sean, Bute knows he needs to make a statement. Going out in second gear and cruising to a decision Inkin style will just not do, and he knows it. The intention in the Bute camp is that they're going to put on a show. I expect nothing less. In many ways Zuniga is made for Bute. He should shine.

...Zuniga weighed in at 176 lbs this morning, in the second weigh-in. That means he's not looking for speed (he doesn't have much anyway) but for a bit of bulk to help him survive 12 rounds.

...even so, I would be disappointed if Bute doesn't look to stop him. Unless Zuniga is a real tough surviver, if Bute fights the way you and I expect of him, he really should stop him...

Unless Bute conciously decdies to make a big effort to KO Zuniga I don't think he will...

When I watch him he never looks like he is really desperate to KO anybody. When a stoppage comes it seems to be a byproduct of the rest of his good work rather than him ever leading autopilot.

This is true....and frustrating to his fans...he's too cautious and risk averse.

i would be content with a dominanent bute points win.

a close fight will be because bute fought cautous .

bute`s southpaw stance/quick hands /abilty to get in and out from range and score heavily v a fighter who does not give many angles and who fights on rails, should be a forgone conclusion.

not sure about stopping zuniga, i am not sure if bute will risk using to much stamina to try and get him out of there but if he did it late by accumilation , if the fight is very one sided it would be no surprise.

I don't think he should look for an accumulation type stoppage....I think he should go for angles, as you said, for hard, precise, well timed shots. If he tires Zuniga to the body...he should be in a good position to stop him...unlike someone like Tatevosyan who was very disciplined defensively and protected his body at all times, and was bigger, Zuniga (who is not that much better), should present more of a target because of his "wild", aggressive style.

We'll see...but as you say, Bute has a lot of questions to answer, and even his most general fans will expect some clear, convincing answers tonight.:good

what no one has said is what might happen if bute takes total control.

would zuniga still try to come forward and try to win the fight , which would give bute the chance to stop him, or would zuniga go into survival mode and be content for a points loss.

i agree bute should hunt the body a lot in this fight.
