If Green comes out of the Deleon fight without a serious cut on his face, he could fight Bute the following week and beat him... That's how sure i am of him beating bute.. Ive dissected and broke down bute's style and ya know what?? he has nothing for Green..

Bottom line is, anything Bute does, Green can do better.

Green is a good fighter, and he has a style Bute has not faced before, but he would prepare Bute more for Taylor than for Andrade. It would be interesting to see how Bute deals with a smoother, more technical fighter than Zuniga or Andrade, though. Green would be an acceptable voluntary defence, just about, but I hope they choose Bika. Bika is a much better fighter and he would prepare Bute much better for the rematch with Andrade. Green is probably not much better than Zuniga, but, I guess, at least he's a bit bigger. Still, he would be by far the least deserving opponent Bute would have ever faced since the eliminator against Bika.

Andrade would knock him out...Bute doesn't look good at all...Greene will be a tough opponent too!

It's not instead of, he's taking an optional defense before his mandatory defense. Unless Tsypko's chin is better than I think it is, it's pretty unlikely that Andrade won't be the mandatory, and if Andrade loses, then it makes a rematch pretty irrelevant for the time being.

This is comedy gold. The only thing Green does better is stare at his feet.

Hm, I dont think so...Green is all wrong for Bute...I think that people tend to think too much about Green's fight with Miranda, and that is a mistake..Green was dealing with a life and death illness(had 70% of his colon removed) going into the fight with Miranda and didnt even know it. It was found after the fight..With that being said Green still almost stopped Miranda early in that fight, before fading late and being dropped acouple of times.

Bute will have more then his hands full with Green. However My guess is that Green will get the winner of Taylor Froch, and Bute will have to continue to avoid Andrade...

Bute will fight Andrade in the fall as mandatory. An optional defense is open for June.

Someone please explain to me why Green is all wrong for Bute. I'm usually pretty decent at picking up these kinds of things, but I just don't see it. The one thing that used to bode well for Green was that he had a good killer instinct once upon a time, but I haven't seen that in years. He's not a tricky unorthodox fighter. He's not a pressure fighter with power. He doesn't have a high workrate. He's not particularly accurate. He's prone to making stupid mistakes. He's untested against southpaws. He's not a great inside fighter.

Don't get me wrong, I like Allen Green. I'm annoyed that he's pissing away his career with stupid management moves, and I think he has talent, but I think he's generally a lesser, orthodox version of Bute. He's less skilled, his defense isn't as slick, he doesn't throw in combos as well, his jab doesn't have as much snap. He's spent the last two years fighting has-beens and never-wases and hasn't looked particularly great in doing so. His chin is a bit better and his power is a bit better, but that's about it.

I could see someone who's good at cutting off the ring and fighting on the inside beating Bute (which isn't really anyone at 168 right now, though Andre Ward might get there). I could someone with quickness and powerful counterpunching skills beating Bute, a la Abraham. I could see someone who's really slick and can crack beating Bute, a la Dirrell. I can even see someone who's very well-rounded and a quality boxer-puncher with equal skills beating him, a la Kessler. But I can't really see any reason why Allen Green would beat Lucian Bute.

    It ain't gonna be Green, I don't think!:verysad

He fights on the 25th of April and that would only leave him 7 weeks to prepare for Bute. That ain't enough. He's probably waiting for a shot at Taylor anyway, whether Taylor wins or loses. :yep

    :deal

It's going to be someone else...hope it's not Brinkley though...:barf
