It was a cracking wee battle....all Segura though. The stoppage looked dodgy as hell; the bell went to end round 4 and Segura stopped punching, but then the ref didn't step in and Segura proceeded to pile it on thick for the win. I hope you don't mind, but I stole this and posted it in the Brit Forum; some of the guys in there don't venture into the General Forum, and I didn't want them to miss out.

Course i don't mind D-Mac. I did give a little credit to Freddy-Wak over there as he tipped me off. It's worth 10 minutes of any fight lovers time. I completely agree with your comments about the end though, the commentary left me a bit confused so i assumed i missed something, just looked like a minutes breather then back at it to me:huh:huh Worth a watch lads:good
Too bad this ruins the plans for Canchila/Calderon. I think Calderon could teach some boxing to both of them.
I think Segura would give Calderon problems given that he is the bigger man, has a damn high workrate, a good set of whiskers and packs power in his punches. He was obviously more motivated for the rematch with Canchila and brought more of an A-game than he did in the first fight. He is still very wild and Calderon will find a ready home for his accurate punches, and will undoubtedly make Segura look like a fool at times, but I feel it would be a very good match-up. The workrate especially might trouble Calderon over 12 at this late stage in his career.
Just watched it for the third time. There is no doubt that the ending was controversial in the extreme. Segura had the upperhand by a mile, but the round had ended and the ref should have split them and given Canchila a chance to mount a comeback over the following rounds.
the first fight are also worth your time..both showed heart but segura was outskilled in that fight...
It was pretty much a one sided war though.. Canchilla was landing some clean counter punches with no power behind it and segura wasn't fazed at all.. He should have stuck to his game plan and box more.. Segura is like a smaller Urango.. He's not great and i dont see him beating the top guys.
