sorry for the inconclusive title but i thought i would share a wee secret on how to get a discoutn on your setanta subscription only works for sky as i know ,but may work for freeview(if ti does drop a line on thsiu thread) if you call there loyality number and say your thinking about leavingthey usually give you a discoutn .up until recently they had me on £7.50 for 6 months! its worth a go ?i am doing 6 months at £10 a month 0191 5013601
Back in the earlier days of Setanta when they weren't showing regular boxing but had a couple of fights on in one particular month (Hatton-Castillo and something else I can't remember off the top of my head, think it was a Zab Judah fight) I subscribed for that month only and cancelled afterwards as they didn't have anything else on the horizon boxing wise at the time. To keep my custom they gave me a couple of months free subscription! (And by the time that expired I was getting it free anyway because I'm on Virgin Media's XL package.) Anyway, glad to be with them now. Best boxing channel by far.
Hearing mumblings that top investors have written down the value of their stakes to zero...this going on the back of them "reviewing all their services"... Dunno where this is all gonna lead...hopefully not an increase in the prices....or worse still PPV!!?
I hope it doesn't go down the route of PPV, but if it does, although PPV sucks it's not so bad having to pay for fights the quality of Marquez-Diaz compared to Khan-Prescott on Sky. I'm pretty sure Setanta held PPVs in the past too. I think Hopkins-Eastman/Witter-Ndou were PPV on Setanta back in 2005. And I'm sure there were some cheapo Maloney or Hearn shows that were available for £5.00.
They offered this to me as well but the 12 months comes with a 12 month fixed contract so be warned on that one.
why short change them you must be total cheapscates there prices are low for the quality of fights i heard ESPN might be taking over tehm
