...not official, of course, just a theory...but let's post in this thread, rather than in the Bute v. Brinkley thread, which has an embarrassing title...

It's not final, but "word on the street" is that Bute is fighting the guy who lost to Sergio Mora:yep

Sorry guys. I saw an opening, and countered:bbb

I'd be for it depending on how much Bika has improved since the first fight. I mean I believe he has having come through to win the Contender series and claim the IBO title, but I feel Bute has improved aswell, and the result would be pretty much the same.

Still, better than Jesse Brinkley I suppose. Hopefully he can keep himself relatively busy, but isn't he supposed to be fighting the winner of Andrade/Tsypko aswell, which is set for April 4th is it not? So say he fights Bika or whoever in June, realistically he won't fight Andrade until around Octoberish?

I was hoping maybe we might see Bute vs the winner of Froch/Taylor around July/August time. The Andrade rematch is just slowing things down, but I suppose people will give him **** if he doesn't give Librado a rematch, even if it means unifying against either Froch or Taylor.

Not sure he'd get that much more than fighting Bika, because the only variable cost here is how much Bika wants compared to how much Ward would want. (Dirrell's not really on the cards)

Bika has no options, really...he's screwed...he can't ask for a fortune or price himself out, because if Bute won't give him a go, no one else will...and he'll just fade and become forgotten...on the other hand, getting a title shot on Showtime...not that is a good career move for Bika.

    He'll want around $250k+...

Ward...well...he's making decent money as it is on Showtime...fighting bums, so...I'm not sure he'd settle for less than Bika at all....

...so...no. And even if Bute makes slightly less money by taking on Bika, it's worth it given the quality of fighter he's getting and the preparation for the Andrade fight...

People talk about how Bute destroyed Bika, etc., but it's just not true...they're just going by boxrec scores. In fact, Bika gave Bute a very close fight for the first 6 rounds, and Bute only managed to pull away clearly in the championship rounds...Bika won 5 rounds in my book. It was a close, hard fight...

...Bika's better now, and he's more hungry too, and more sure of himself. The stakes are bigger too...he'd give Bute a hell of a fight!

The scores didn't reflect the fight. It wasn't a case for me of Bute winning only like 7-5, I may of only given Bika 3 rounds but there were a lot of rounds that were very competitive but edged slightly by Bute. The fight as a whole was close, though Bute clearly won if that makes sense.

    Yeah...good description, Tommy.:good

Bute had to dig deep to alter the course of the fight...Bika was winning...he was ahead on the cards. But yeah, there can be no case made for anything but a clear Bute win in this one, even without the point deduction.

I think I had it 8-4 and with the point deduction when Bika thought his head was a punch it made it look wider. The fight indeed was borderline close but Bute won it clearly

The question is : will Bika agree to fight Bute again ? He just call out B-Hop. I still think it gonna be Dirrell or Ward if Showtime wants the fight. Miranda or Lacy are also possible fights.

Bika said plenty of times, including very recently, that he'd LOVE to fight Bute.:good

(Hell, he'd love to fight anyone good, but he can't get a fight against anyone...!)

Ward, Dirrell, Lacy, Green, etc., they'll never fight Bika unless it's crunch time...he's hellish risk/reward for these guys. Only top fighters can afford to fight Bika...

Why wouldn't Bika take the fight?

The guy has never ducked anybody, and he's not gonna turn down a world title shot.

He knows a fight with Hopkins would never happen.
