You sure can tell when a person just started to follow the sport of boxing? I agree with the overall post man...Despite what people say about Oscar...Oscar was the the #1 guy at 154 at the time he and Mayweather fought...at the time of the Judah fight he was the UNDISPUTED WW champ before he lost it to Carlos Baldomir...
its funny, there are alot of good things to like about this forum, then there is the other side- I think i understand now that fight fans take there like or dislike for a fighter and base their quotes on that. I also get the fact that everyone from shane down to cotto gets a pass for wanting to fight the winner of the pacman hatton fight- i mean thats your guy so the size, weight difference only applies to mayweather. lol paul williams has called out cotto, shane every body- yet no one on this forum as every said anything about those guys ducking him-
Cotto and Arum and HBO tried to make a fight with Floyd last year before finally settling on Gomez. Cotto made some critical comments about floyd's calling himself the best but not wanting to fight the best but decided to move on with his career without floyd. Floyd got lucky because Cotto is not one to publicly bash any boxer, so got out of that dodge pretty much unscathed.
But you also have to admit, that is just doesnt look right for Mayweather to come back after all the smoke has been cleared, Williams moved up, Margarito beat Cotto, Shane Beat Margarito. Now Floyd comes back after all that work has been done, it just doesnt look good. you can sit there and say this or that would have happend if Floyd fought them anyways but you dont know for sure unless Floyd fights them. either way I am interested in seeing if Floyd does fight Marquez, to be honest I dont think he can make 140 anymore.
Rudyard, what are we waiting for? A commission's answer? Naz already said what he saw and felt and gave it to Mosley's attorney. It was on that thread where we all heard Naz on the radio station. Are some posters calling him a liar by claiming they want to hear it from the commission. I feel that it is a dead issue and let's move forward already. As far as Cotto goes if Marg cheated with him, we will never know. We can only assume. I don't buy that crap about this would never happen in Vegas. Fighters get cheated out of decisions there all the time. Did we forget that Vegas is about money. There is curuption everywhere and Vegas is not exempt. If by some chance Cotto and Marg fight again, then we will see if it is the same outcome or closer.
Right.. Cintron had juss got done fighting Feliciano in a fight where he was struggling cuz he cant fight on the inside... Williams was almost fresh off his victory over Tony so that wasn't gonna work... Margarito had juss lost to Paul Williams.... FAIL
No he wouldn't have been and we have mentioned why countless times. Mosley didn't just beat him by being a "superhero" overnight, he used his skills to overcome what Margarito offered and what Margarito offered was damn clear and is as one-dimensional as it gets. There are many one-dimensional fighters and there are many successful ones, Margarito isn't considered a successful one, all Margarito accomplished was one major victory over Miguel Cotto and even though that's a big win it doesn't make him a "serious" force like many say he is. Mosley didn't just beat Margarito, he made him look like a complete fool in there. He was actually beating Margarito while giving Margarito the range a tall fighter SEEKS, it doesn't get worse than that. Not only that but he also beat him up close. Margarito was barely able to throw or land anything because of Mosley's movement. We all know that Mayweather also specializes in movement and speed, Shane gave Margarito the 37 year old version of his movement and speed(which is 40% of Mosley considering his age) and he looked young and prime material all of a sudden or a "supreme machine" overnight as some people would like to believe. Sorry but as a boxing fan I don't believe such nonsense, with all do respect, only noobs will come up with. Hopkins looked prime material dominating Tarver and Wright, then he ran into a fast Calzaghe and he's forced to look old overnight. DLH looks young and serious KO power material thrashing Mayorga then looks old/sluggish against Mayweather and Pacquiao, this also applies to Hopkins against Pavlik. Fact is when you put someone against another fighter who's tailor made in terms of style OF COURSE he will look prime material or super hero material. Mosley is an all-time favorite of mine and there's no way in hell I'll stand up and say he looked PRIME fighting Margarito because I would be beyond stupid doing so. I've followed Mosley for a very long time, that wasn't prime Mosley and not even close, it was only the fact that he was against a scrub of a fighter who's one-dimensional and easily manipulated in the ring. Mosley was so comfortable dealing with Margarito's style he was literally throwing whatever type of punch he wanted and landed, that's how easy it was for him. Hope I don't sound like I'm taking it too far but it also looked at some points that Mosley was sparring a heavy bag with electronic legs that keeps stalking with no ring cutting skills WHATSOEVER, if that's someone people had in the top 10 P4P then boxing must be going way too low. In my opinion I wouldn't expect Mayweather to KO Margarito but would expect him to UD his ass and do it with ease. Even the people that called Mayweather scared were nervous whenever Mayweather was rumored to fight Margarito knowing that they're only cheering for a heavybag for the sake of keeping the hate alive. I'm not stupid to believe such horse **** pathetic losers like Freddy-Wak would start. Calling Cotto dangerous for Mayweather is VERY acceptable and understandable but Margarito?!, **** no. Margarito isn't even better than Gatti, I know you would be laughing at this but compare Gatti's accomplishments with Margarito and I assure you that the laughter will stop.
I don't even consider that a win especially with Margarito being exposed as a lowlife cheating tomato can.
What Mayweather did is beat everyone he ever fought. What Mayweather didn't do is fight everyone. Is that bad? Well, you can say the same for Joe Calzaghe, who I like and don't nitpick against. The difference is that Mayweather acted like a brat, and that opens him up for more critisism from his detractors. Even though I don't particularly care for all his pseudo-ghetto behaviour and always rooted against him, I have to admit he was a great fighter. He also could have taken more chances against more fighters and generated more potentially great fights. So if I nitpick, I can hold that against him. Only if I nitpick.
