Going to see it, I'm a big fan of Ricky.

Think this is a bridge too far for him though - Gomez will fight his way through until he gets him.

    Hope not though.

I'm exacly the same I like ricky and don't live too far from him but I've followed gomez for years. Everyones split up here on how the fight will go, there is big rumours about ricky weight and also the fact ricky didn't want this fight and was pushed into it.
If I had to choose I'd go for gomez, ricky stepped up a level twice before and come up short I think he will fall short again. If you go through his record he hasn't fought anyone like gomez. I agree ricky looks like he's improving but it's not hard to look good against very poor foreners his padded records. I don't think ricky has the power to keep gomez off and if he is tight at the weight then boxing on the back foot all night will prove very hard. Also a pal told me ricky told him he wasn't sure if his trainer could take him to the next level, he's already left a respected trainer rab brannon up here for the same reason, maybe the lad really does have doubts himself!
My opinion gomez late stoppage, ricky goes on and improves with a new trainer at lightweight and I'll be there supporting him
    Good luck to both

Cheers guys billy is an excellent trainer by all accounts so we expect it's going to be a very tough night- if ricky were fighting anyone else I'd be cheering him on. The press releases were very silly and disrespectful though. I'm sure nothings meant by it.

In all seriousness, nice piece of grammar. Less is more when it comes to fighters fighting, not when it's written about. Very nice piece of work, given the situation of knowing the subject.

    :thumbsup

Gomez intimidate's me, i remember one time. I saw him in Liverpool, in a Greek Chippy smashed.

Intimidating, but seemed alright to speak to.

Only Khan, Baz Carey (Limond, Watson undercard) and Johanneson (hardly recent) to be fair but it was all i needed to see.

  14. Oh jeez Louise call the ****ing cops.

the fact that you know the origins of chippy's scares me.

  15. Oh by the way, I love Michael Gomez. The first thing I'd do if I saw him in a chippy in Liverpool would be to shake his hand, not cower and ask if Stavros had an exit through the back way.
