Vitali beats a blown up cruiserweight who's at least 20 pounds overweight...

These guys can't see boxing for what it is?

Vitali took Gomez, (A VERY FORMIDABLE BOXER AND A SOUTHPAW MIND YOU) apart, he focused on Gomez left all night long, Gomez didn't even hit him good more than a few times.

Haye would probably go to sleep in the first round, I kid you not..:good

Big fan of kellerman, think he gets a bad rap here, were did you get the picture of him or is that one you standing next him (no insult cause you think hayes can beat vitali).. I met kellerman 6 years ago when he was with espn2, shook his hand, got autograph, an asked a couple of boxing question,,,,nice person:hi:

But Gomez did turn his back a couple of times, as if he was questioning if he wanted to continue. I think he did this to get the ref to get Vitali off him, as well as not having to take a knee and lose a point. Merely turn your back............LOL

But he did fight on, so credit to him.

I think, after the awkward range finding first round, Vitali looked good, and as the rounds prgressed, he looked better and better.............And, given that Gomez is a good boxer who kept coming after him, Vitali was very effective at avoiding the Gomez attacks, which were numerous.

Those heavy right hand shots that dropped Gomez would have put Haye on his back, tits up. No question.

He won every single round but one and knocked out an awkward sloppy Southpaw.

How did Vitali look shot? What, anything other than a first round KO and a fighter is shot? Vitali did the same thing that he did to Sanders, Danny Williams, Peter, and now Gomez...

Damn Vitali haters are idiots. Gomez is easily an awkward southpaw but at the same time Gomez is easily a much better fighter then a weak chin of Barrett. Barrett lands some good shots on Haye and Haye was even knockdown from Barrett punch but of course the ******ed ref in england won't call that a knockdown. If Vitali lands a shot on Haye, it be over for Haye.

Huh, Peter showed ton of heart in the Wlad fight? Hm... I must have watched the wrong fight! Can you please explain me what exactly he showed?

No, I don;t think Peter should have continued and sustained even more unnecessary punishment. But all I can read about VK is his fight with Byrd and lack of heart... it comes up in every article on the guy... now, tell me, what would you called VK's behaviour on that night? Would be comparable to Peter's quitting?

    Exactly.

I was being nice and gave Gomez 1 round but thats tops. 2 is pushing it as well.

Some of the scorecards in the round by round were ridiculous.

Agree in that I dont think he'd take them... however they were coming in slow motion. Vitali was a joke, Gomez was a joke... How people are saying Haye doesn't have a chance based on how utterly pathetic Vitali was is beyond me.

Vitali - slow hands, slow feet, generally ponderous, NO defense, moves back in straight lines, rarely throws combinations (1-2 is not a combo), stamina was gone after 2 round... Makes Tony calling the Klits out seem a lot less ridiculous now! lol

And Haye look great in his last fight vs a weak chin shot Barrett? Lol. Barrett lands good shots on Haye in which Haye was buckle. Barrett even Knockdown Haye but the ******ed biased pay ref (Haye pay the ref i bet) didn't call that a knockdown. Imagine if those shots Haye took from Barrett was from Vitali shots? Would Haye be able to take it? Hell No.

Wow and he still managed to basically pitch a shutout....Fairly impressive eh? I mean, since Vitali is such a "poor" fighter and all...

timing and defense themselves, actually, either one of them can neutralize and conquour speed.plus,a monster right hand counter is a nice bonus added for vk's behalf.

vk wont waste his energy trying to chase haye.
haye can dance around all he wants.he can bomb away all he wants but i sense vk tiring him down with the defensive abilities.those neutralizing tactics he uses will have haye gasping away right along vk after 3 or so rd's and then, once haye's guard goes down low enough and vk lands one,it will be enough to have haye clinching away and struggling to hang in there.

haye's too much of a swarmer sprinter front runner.he'll be gassed after a few rd's.this is what i sense.he cant keep up a high rate of punches and keep moving around like he will in the first couple of rd's.
he'll be weighing 220-225 and he'll be feeling all that extra bodyweight.
especially since he'll be gunning so hard for an early ko.
vk has a way of wearing out opponents, especially if they try to outgun em,which haye will definately be trying to do with all his might at first.

his energy will be too burnt out of em by the time he realizes he should've just stuck to stick and move mode.haye REALLY REALLY wants to ko vk...make no mistake about it!

People who think Haye is just a banger are mistaken, he was a very good amatuer and is a better technician and tactician than he's given credit for. I think at times he is too keen to put on a show for the fans and will stand and trade when he could be more clever about it but when he's focussed and well prepared he has a lot more to his game than that. At CW he was usually the naturally bigger man so could use his power in a brawl, at heavyweight he'll be a little different, i'm sure of that.

If he uses his speed to go in and out then Vit wont be able to tie him up as easily as he could with Gomez, and would have a good chance of stopping Vit on cuts. That would seem a reasonable tactic to me ater watching Vit tonight and I'm sure Haye wil have more worked out than I will.

Other than tying up his opponent I don't see much in the way of defense from VK. He fights with his hands at his waist and his reflexes don't seem sharp enough for him to get away with that for long.
