How the hell are you supposed to score a point with the computer scoring system when there are only 3 judges! WTF? It's hard enough with 5. :rant
I fought last night and I still have one today. I lost 3-5. In a four rounder! 3 freaking points?! Come on! I don't understand why they are using the computer if there are only 3 judges. There's no way that all three can see a punch at the same time. Everyone is complaining about it. In the 9 bouts before mine, I saw 1 jab score, 1 body shot score and I saw 3 score that were on the arms or shoulders and 2 that were clearly blocked! WTF?! I think the judges were at a loss because they are short on officials so they just clicked if the punch was loud, not necessarily if they could see it. My fight was pretty frustrating. I'm mad at myself for not being more active. But it was only the 2nd time I've boxed with the computer system and I didn't really know what to do. I made the mistake of changing my style to suit the computer and it didn't work. That, and she was holding like a mofo! Her coach actually came and apologized to my coach this morning for all of her holding. Oh well, it was good to get a bout with the computer since that's what we use at Nationals. it sucks though. And it makes the bouts really boring. I have one more in a couple of hours. Hopefully I'll do better this time.
Good luck. :good Sounds like you either have to overwhelm her or score points from the outside, since those are more likely to be visible to all judges..... but boxing shouldn't be like that. :-(
I know! Literally the only punches I saw land were over hand rights that were counters and loud when they landed. What's the point in actually boxing if the only thing that works is standing in one spot and waiting to throw one punch?! I'm just going to fight my normal style and try to overwhelm her and forget about the computer. Besides, I'm fighting a Canadian...in Canada, it's not like I was expecting to win in the first place. I just want the experience.
Experience is always good. Give her hell. Plus, from now on, if you go for a new job, you can put on your resume that you have extended "computer experience". :yep
i prefer it when each judge scores individually with a claculater thing computer scoring is pish anyway
