Lewis was actually considered at the top of his game after knocking out Rahman in the rematch and beating Tyson. Age doesn't mean a damn thing. Different fighters reach their peaks at different times. Like I said though, it sure as hell wasn't just Lewis saying this. NOBODY was acting like Lewis was some over the hill fighter going into his fight against Vitali. Actually, everyone was talking about how Lewis was going to roll over him.
Ah so you admit that WALDO isn't the recognised champ at the moment then, good.... Before you start with your usual line about "the belts don't make the champion" I'll remind you that Lewis was actually 33 when that travesty of a draw with Holyfield happened, and a lot of people had him as the divisions number 1 heavyweight a few fights before that, just like some people think WALDO is the number 1 now even though he doesn't have the belts. I mean it's only right and proper you judge WALDO in the same manner that you judge Lennox, isn't it :hat
DAVID HAYES heavyweight world title fight with Wladimir Klitschko is back on. The former undisputed world cruiserweight champ hoped to fight IBF and WBO king Klitschko in London. But the figures just did not add up and, after looking at Las Vegas, they have now settled on Berlin on June 20. An insider said: It has taken a long time but were more than 98 per cent of the way to agreeing all the details. Very little needs to be agreed now as even the time of the fight will be done to suit European TV audiences and not the early hours of the morning to fit in with US TV schedules. It's from www.FaceBook.com
u still up for the lifetime ban bet :happy:happy:happy i wont make it til it's signed and announced though...haye might still bottle it :hey
Haye is ready for the fight of his life, and fight fans will be in for a treat. I'm not saying Haye is going to win, but he will give Wlad more trouble than the last lame ass oppenents did. Haye has the skills and talent to beat Wlad, his chin is the only thing I'm really worried about in this fight. I do believe Haye's only chance to win is to take Wlad out of his comfort zone early, get nasty in the clinches, keep punching until the ref breaks it up. Haye needs to make this a fight, not a boxing match.
Vitali was knocked out by training camp 5 times, contracts can be a tough styles match as well, you can't blame Haye, alot of fighters have a tough time getting past those.:yep
Unfortunately, I think he is having problems wearing the promotional hat and should elect to let someone else handle all negotiations with this fight. That is, if he really wants this fight...which right now is a debatable subject.
