You focus too much on exactly what people say. Obviously he isn't a **** fighter, but he's not world-class. The sparring session looked very strange. It didn't look like a typical Mayweather. He was more aggressive than usual and not his typical counter punching defensive style, unless this was when Floyd was at 130 and was more aggressive. He fought very upright though and got caught often which isn't like Mayweather. It was like he pretty much abandoned his defence.
its very possible he just had a good day mayweather did not i mean everybody can have a bad day on the job
Of course it looked strange. You aren't used to seeing Mayweather get his ears boxed off. Spadafora forced him to not look like himself. This is why so many people are quick to claim that a fighter is shot, past it, ect... People don't understand that when you lose, you don't usually look the same as when you are dominating someone. What they fail to realize is that it is the opponent making them look that way.
Very possible. However on his best day a **** fighter can't box Mayweather's ears off, even on his worst day. I see now Tommy V has backed off on his comments about Spadafora.
Interesting, I've heard excuses for Mayweather's weak sparring performance against Spadafora was that Mayweather was out of shape. In a sport like boxing being in shape pays.
LOLOLOL i read the title of the thread and wondered if anyone would say that and sure as **** bladerunner was on the first page...haha...well played my friend
Mayweather was sparring off the street and out of shape. Spadfora had been in training for an upcoming fight for a while. Lets not get it twisted. Spadafora has no real top guys on his resume and recieved a gift decision in his last fight against a mediocre fighter. That's enough proof for me that he couldn't hang with Mayweather although I think Spadafora is a real talent.
Too much outside distraction. He was on well on the way up to recognition in May 2003 when he fought Dorin for the WBA/IBF Lightweight unification. The fight came out as a draw. AFTER a month he relinquished his IBF title citing difficulties in making weight. After 4 months, that was Ocotber 2003, he was arrested for shootng his girlfriend. He was able to post bail. Then September 7, 2004 he was arrested again for driving his car in a park no drive zone while under the influence of alcohol. December 2004 he was found positive for cocaine. The same month . . . he pleaded guilty to the charges and was jsiled immediately. Then Feb 2005 . . . his sentence for the charges of shooting his girlfriend came down. He was released on parole from jail 2006 and returned to the ring a win a fight . . . after that he was re-arrested for parole violation. Finally he was released again July of 2007. In 2007 he fought Oisin Fgan and won. In 2008 he fought Shad Howard and win again. He now 33 yrs old and fignting at 140. If he intends to make it to the cream of the crop group . . . he better starts fighting opponents within the top 10 ratings of the 140 weight class. :deal
He shot his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. It's hard to promote that kind of character. Also, he's long faded at this point. He wasted his prime getting into trouble and making unreasonable demands, but at this point, he sucks.
Right . . . his last fight with Shad howard was suppose to be at 147 . . . Howard weight in at 143 and Paul at 144. :yep
spadafora looked good against mayweather because it was floyds first day back in the gym and he was outta shape. U people need to get ur information hecked by people who were actuallly there and know what happened, not through speculation
