I can't remember the last time Briggs turned in a performance that would rate as high as 5 out of 10.
I have no desire to see him punch himself out after about 30 seconds, blame it on asthma and claim he's the greatest of all time because he has the fortitude to fight on, even with this debilitating "disease" ... again.

I thought it couldn't get any better when Shannon claimed he should have won (he took one round on my card).
Then, he started explaining why he was better than Ray Robinson!
That level of self-delusion is unhealthy.

 

I just can't take Briggs seriously ever since he caught that robbery gift decision over Foreman.

 

Briggs last performance was a about a 2. He lost just about every round, didn't throw any punches, was useless. And he expects a title shot?

While a lot of you lambasted me for giving Maskaev a legit shot at Vitali, I don't think Briggs has more than a very remote punchers chance. Briggs even at his best is winded badly after two rounds. Plus, his best punch the overhand right is telegraphed from a mile away, not the best punch to hit a smart fighter like Klitschko.

Briggs has no Chin, no stamina, asthma, throws 10 punches a round. He is not going to beat anyone. The guy is delusional.

 

I've always liked Shannon Briggs but in the last 4 four years he's looked gassed, slow, and his workrate has been atrocious. With a two year lay off and at 36 years old, he should be focusing on beating top contenders and uping his workrate before he thinks of a title fight. I really like this guy but I don't see him making an impact at this stage of his career.

He's merely trying to get attention with statements such as this. He's promoting his business (himself), even if he is very undeserving of a shot at either brother. I see his statements as a desperate plea for another chance. LOL

He will have to work his way back up, first, before anyone takes him as a threat to top fighters.
