im really happy they are putting this fight on espn i like that they are letting us watch a good fight on network tv not hbo shobox i think its a good thing even if you dont like peter or chambers i love espn for the fact they showcase young talent and now they are putting on some good shows klit/gomez now peter /chambers i hope this becomes a trend i also like the fact that this is not a title fight or a elimination but it is a fight that needs to be done if chambers wins he should be very close to his klit fight and if peter wins he should also be put back in line for another title fight within the next 18months-2years i wish espn picked up the estrada-povetkin williams-hernandez card i think america should be able to see those fights even if estrada loses on the cards atleast we can see if it was a robbery or a beating and aaron williams has to get back with a solid win over this up and coming cuban fight if he wants his shot at a belt anytime soon his loss to herrera set him back and this fight will def boost him in the rankings yoan pablo hernandez i think thats what his full name?? looks pretty good on paper i have not got to see him fight but from what i hear he is pretty good maybe jaycuban can say something about him but with a win over willams i think his name will be out there and he will be getting better paydays from that fight on thoughts?? :think
Im going to this fight and really looking forward to it. These are 2 legit top 10 hws squaring off. Im a fan of both. Chambers is skilled, fast and has a versatile arsenal. Picks off punches well and is a thinking man's fighter. But his size, conditioning and workrate are concerns at this level. As for Sam, I think it's too early to write him off considering his only losses are to the Klits. I just hope he doesn't go AWOL. I must admit Im a little worried about his mental focus and desire to box. We will know a lot about Peter;s mental state at the weigh in. If he's around 250ish, Im taking him on pts. If he's well over, then Chambers probably has the advantage. I just think this fight favors Peter style-wise cause he can get in close and get off his punches. THe Klits were able to keep a large gap between themselves and Sam not allowing him to get set. Eddie doesn't really do that. He's willing to exchange inside and that would be a mistake against Peter who's very strong. Even id Chambers land 2 for every 1, he could be in big trouble. Peter has an underrated jab and workrate as well. I'm pumped. Look for the WHO NEX sign in row 4 :yep
Chambers' speed, durability and skill all spell victory... I'm just very worried about his footwork. We saw with Toney that being unable to move away from Peter spells disaster. If Chambers can keep moving all the time, even if slowly, he'll dramatically increase his chances. Peter, meanwhile, needs to get his handspeed increasing: he can't afford to be unable to land power shots on the outside. It should be a very interesting fight.
good point. Chambers doesn't use all that much movement especially as the fight drags on. He relies on his skills and counter-punching to keep guys off more. Peter is gonna land some heavy shots...
Hernandez is a good fighter. He's a good boxer with good fundamentals, but also has some pop in his fists. Remember, he was comfortably outboxing Braithwaite before getting starched. Therein lies the problem... he's not very durable, and he always looks a little shakey when anybody puts him under pressure. Evenly matched fight against Williams, a good fight for both. The winner again emerges as a contender..back to the drawing board for the loser. I would favour Hernandez, just.
im picking Peter over Chambers...Chambers has handspeed but stands right in front of you...if Peter can throw a straight right hand instead of looping it then Chambers is in trouble...that would get Chambers worried about incoming fire and hesitant to pull the trigger...Peter SD Chambers...
Chambers is a good boxer.Peter is a lumbering oaf with a decent chin and overrated power.Chambers stamina is suspect but its not like Peter is gonna wear him down. Fast Eddie by wide UD
If Chambers refrains from driving his cranium into Peter's sternum, I see no reason Samuel would have to force a break.
Eddie needs to be on his toes all the time here. One punch can hurt him and slow him down for the rest fo the later rounds. Just one rabbit punch behind the head can do a lot of damage . . . and I guess Peter is willing to receive warnings for it. :yep
Eddie has a good beard, even if he is caught and slows in the latter rounds Peter isn't gonna pressure him at the pace Potvetkin did.He was in that fight until the last few rounds when his conditioning let him down, i don't think that will be an issue this time
