Gomez was 30lbs over his best weight and had NEVER BEATEN A TOP FIGHTER , unless you count a 43 year old McCall.Vitali is in the top two of a bad bunch in a **** division, a good ,but not great fighter and like Gomez he has NEVER BEATEN A GREAT FIGHTER.

That maybe becoz he is the GREATEST** there are no greater heavies to beat!!!

Reminder: Vitali retired Lennox Lewis. After winning on cuts, Lewis retired rather than face Vitali a 2nd time. In effect, making Vitali the winner by default!!!

Vitali's more of a volume puncher that can turn a fight on at anytime with his big punch power.

Vitali is an ATG because he won the WBO & the WBC heavyweight titles, he returned from nearly 4 year retirement and won the WBC belt back by TKO without a tuneup ,& he's one half of the first brothers to own portions of the Heavyweight title at the same time.

He also has the highest KO percentage of any Heavyweight champion.

Sam Peter may have been exposed by Jameel McCline in 2007, but Klitschko totally beat the **** outta Peter with ease... And, just last week, I gave the first round to Gomez, however, every round after that was ALL Klitschko..... Peace.......

He is a hard guy to beat...Gomez, Peter,Johnson,Williams would have been able to hold there own in the 70's and 80's and beaten a few top guys....Vitali lost 4 years but even against Lewis...it was a bad break that he cut and Lewis hair head did not help...anyway Vitali improved after that fight and it was quite a trick to come back after 4 off and beat those guys...I dont know how he will be judged but Gomez was a good fighter....and Sam Peter was better than Berbick,Mac Foster,Bey and a lot of contenders from the 70's 80's and 90's....Vitali may have dominated the 80's...the 70's would offer a few tough challenges but Dont count Vitali out to be Champion...he is a big man and he is not Earnie Terrell

Without a doubt the way to beat Vitali Klitschko is with good boxing skills and graceful lateral movement... Plus, owning some good power would also help too... SO! In a time machine, I can see past great boxers / fighters like "Jeffries, Johnson, Louis, Liston, Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Bowe & Lenny Lewis" posing some serious issues' for a guy like Vitali Klitschko.... Regardless of all that, Vitali Klitschko is sitting in with a great bunch of ex-champions..... Klitschko is the goods........... Peace......

I too, want to see Vitali Klit fight and KTFO of Nick Valubum...... I have lotsa' interest in that fight / match....... Screw the defense over Oleg Maskaev for the time being..... That fight is not in demand.....

10 to 1 says Team Valubum will run and hide from Team Klitschko forever and a day........ Thus, the fight between the two hulks will never happen.........

i just read that vitali is ranked #1 at boxrec! really strange, his brother holds two titles, has defended them numerous times and was the dominant force for years, still...

YES! But them two horrid losses to "Sanders & Brewster" will haunt Wladimir Klit's legacy forever....... Wlad Klit has comeback to prove he is a great fighter; as long as he doesn't get hit on the chin......

Wlad Klit also suffered knockdowns by DaVarryl Williamson and Sammy Peter in 2004 / 2005......... Wlad's chin is in question........

I agree, you just cant erase losses like that. Just like Lewis couldn't erase being knocked out by single punch against both McCall in 94 and Rahman in 01. Wlad's chin is still weak, he just protects it alot better now with the help of Steward, who has worked with for the last 5 years now. The only way I see Wlad getting caught and maybe knocked out, is if somehow lets himself get into a war with a heavy handed oppenent, who does have speed on his punches as well. Thats why I'm dying to see Haye fight Wlad, it would be Klitschko's toughest test since Peter in September of 05.

I want to see Haye-Wladimir bad too also. But I think Wladimir has improved enough to where he can beat the guys with great speed, a rematch with Corrie Sanders today would still be risky but it'd tell a lot about a Haye-Wlad fight.

Sanders is garbarge now, he's nearly 6 years removed from his fight with Wlad back 03, and just lost to some nobody in his last fight this past year.

Haye on the other hand is a young gun looking to make a name for himself, he has the power and speed to lay Wlad out, but can he do it? Thats the question many fight fans are asking. I myself believe he stands as good as chance as anyone in the division to do so, but his chin is no better than Wlad's from what I seen, and it may mean trouble if Wlad gets a big straight right through Haye's low guard. I hope this fight does happen, the division has been waiting for a good fight like this.
