This post=owned...haha.You owned whomever you were respnding too..:good You used facts to back up erything u said...Good $hit!
There is a big difference in taking a breather and cherry picking! Cotto has fought everyone put in front of him. Maywether has avoided all the big-time match-ups he could be a part of! Who wanted him to fight Baldomir? He moved up to fight a past his prime Delahoya, and don't blame anyone fighting oscar, because that's where the money is! I agree tat Floyd is very good, he just chooses to fight small, or past there prime fighters, that's a fact! I think he could beat just about anyone between 140 and 154, but he doesn't seem to want to prove it. I love the fight against Pac-man, but what is he gonna do after, he'll retire and leave question marks.
great...you just opened yourself to a blinding left hook from these guys by posting this. don't say i didnt warn you. this thread is fkn over...Floyd is retired, i'd love to see him fight Cotto but it's not going to happen.
He wanted Shane Mosley instead of Baldomir as I remember but Mosley had a toothache and a vacation to take.... Carlos was the lineal champ with Tony being the #1 contender at the time... Zab was ranked #2 at the time Floyd fought Baldomir which he had already beat Zab... Cintron had juss got exposed by Tony so there was no reason for him to fight Cintron... Cotto was training for his 1st fight at WW against Carlos... Paul Williams wasn't even known yet as he was fighting on the undercard to Mayweather-Baldomir Berto was still a prospect... SO WHEN FLOYD FOUGHT BALDOMIR WHOM DID HE DUCK??:think PLEASE DONT SAY MARGARITO CUZ WE SAW HOW BAD HE IS WHEN MOSLEY WHOOPED ON HIM..HE CAN'T DEAL WITH SLICK BOXERS WITH GOOD HANDSPEED...
Hand picked by whom? Top Rank. Just as you shouldn't attempt to put words in my mouth, which I did not utter. I simply stated Oktay Urkal was Cotto's mandatory and ranked in Ring Magazine's top ten, which are facts. How good, deserving, or accomplished Urkal may have been as a fighter, is a completely different discussion. Once again, Jennings wasn't targeted by Cotto. Top Rank gave him two choices. Either remain inactive until June or face Jennings for a vacant title in February. Obviously, he elected the latter. Regardless that's not called cherry picking, it's called staying busy. Pretty much like you did in the post I quoted below. Yeah, because Cotto has such a long history of avoiding fighters. Why's that? No what you wrote is... Seems like a bit of a contradiction to me. First you claim to respect a man for not wanting to take on lesser opposition. Then you turn around, **** on him, and question his "sincerity" at the time he's slated to take a high risk, low reward type of fighter who you highly regard. Such as who?
well if HATTON IS NOT THAT GOOD, cotto is soft. people dont talk about cotto floyd much anymore because cotto got sparked bad. he needs to rebuild and get a half decent win again before he can be considered again. P.S Hatton would spark cotto easy as you say.
Cotto and Arum were trying to get floyd last year but when floyd excused himself from that challenge, claiming Cotto was a "punching bag" but he wouldn't do business with Arum, they ended up taking on Gomez as a replacement. floyd ducked Cotto last year. it was subtle and it was cleverly done, but an artful dodge it was by floyd. that's a fact jack,
Floyd said "make a name for yourself and I will fight you down the line when you have a huge fan base that will make our fight a mega fight" (paraphrase) What happens next???
Long litanny . . . bruh. That possible match up was already discussed here a lot of times (considered as a fantasy match up since Floyd run to retirement) . . . . now the reason why other possible fights are being discussed . . . is it's because these are the names being mentioned by the news and articles that PBF is looking at if he's gonna comeback.
I dont think many people understand what I was saying. What i'm saying is that people are trying to match all these guys up with floyd as if they really pose a threat to him. To even mention him fighting Hatton b/c Floyd senior is his trainer is ridiculous. While him fighting Pac is great financially, I truly believe that stylistically, Floyd destroys pac b/c #1 Pac is not a welterweight and he just does not do well with boxers. Mosley is too old. His win over margarito looks good b/c Marg has no defense. He got outboxed by Cotto who isnt a pure boxer like FLoyd. What I'm trying to say is that regardless of Cotto losing to Marg, he still poses the most threat to Floyd at WW (some may argue P Williams is the biggest threat) Please stop with the "cotto couldnt even beat Marg" crap. We all know that styles make fights. Cotto struggles with pressure, particularly with fighters who possess equal or greater strength. However, he has never struggled against a boxer. He actually does much better against boxers b/c it allows him to walk them down. Floyd is not going to pressure Cotto. This will allow cotto to fight in his preferred style. AGAIN, i'm not talking about finances. I'm simply takling about matchups. Cotto is still the biggest threat to Floyd.
Yeah I know what you are saying . . . but your title is asking why people don't discuss Floyd/Cotto. :deal PBF is wanting a tune fight. If you're gonna ask me . . . my personal opinion is . . . Mosley or Cotto would the most logical opponent . . . but Mosley would be better.
