With a win over Danny Williams in his last fight, why hasn't and when will Albert step up in competition? Who should he be calling out?
Sosnowski is nothing special. Do not understand why you make some noise about him. I even can see Pianeta win this one.
to be honest with you, i think that sosnowski's tko win over williams came more from a rapid decline in danny williams quality as a fighter--age, bad eating and drinking habits between fights, the accumulation of a career's worth of serious punishment--than from a sudden surge in power or some new confidence or newly discovered talent for sosnowski. i am not dissing the guy out, i like sosnowski (i just hope the polish heavy jinx skips him), but i look only one fight back past the win over williams and see him getting hit like crazy by zuri lawrence. i should say, lawrence looked sharper than he has, maybe ever, in that fight. but with the shots lawrence was able to land...even a fighter with one knockout to his credit would have quickly scored a second, i think. sosnowski seems to get stuck between his two modes: throwing shots and covering up. when he's protecting himself he's got no offense to keep the other guy off of him and when he's punching, he's wide open to get rocked from almost any angle because he comes straight forward and doesn't block, balance or cover with the arm he is not punching with, pretty basic boxing stuff that a guy who got ko'd by the low-powered art cook cannot afford to forget. that said, i think sosnowski cannot afford to risk fighting better fighters until he gets a hold on his chin problems with some serious defensive movement training. to be honest with you, i am picking pianeta to stop sosnowski in the middle rounds. pianeta, no world beater, looked good in an early stoppage win over unbeaten michael morrone and really beat the heck out of a tough, but very limited, scott gammer in his next fight...went right on to clearly win a surprisingly technical fight with another decent unbeaten prospect, johann duhaupas. i think pianeta, who also gets hit too much, has the better chin and a much wider variety of modes and tools in the toolbox, so to speak. sosnowski will likely bang with him to his own peril for lack of a third option--covering up and deflecting shots won't win him the fight either.
Sosnowski is OK nothing more. Started Boxing at 19 his upsides are they he is in shape and determined to win.Doesnt have the most natural talent but seems to be willing to learn to improve. Nothing special but at the same time his opponents shouldnt overlook him because he does show in shape and ready to fight. My prediction for Sosnowski a few years back is going according to plan.I figured he would at least challenge for the Euro title one day and may end up the"opponent" in a title defense. He is getting very close.
There is one thing that's not beeing mentioned yet and I believe will determine the winner of this fight: Sosnowsky is slow, slow, too slow to win top fights. He always shows up in shape, seems to put up the work, but as far as talent goes he shows up with little. This Pianeta kid is raw but good, not a fast fighter also but he does enough in that department for the level of opposition he is facing by now, he has a good chin, legit HW power, HW size and some talent, I think he will stop Sosnowsky by the mid rds.
Me,too! Could really go either way! I guess that the Pole will collect a decent paycheck for fighting an undefeated heavy weight talent on German soil on Pianeta's home turf on a fight event staged by Pianeta's promoter.
this is not an easy test for the talented pianeta. he sometimes seems to drift away in fights which could be dangerous vs. sosnowski. sosnowski can be easily outboxed though, i think pianeta will get the decision.
Nobody here is hyping him up as the next best thing. Hes just a not bad Heavyweight. Hes not IBF/WBC etc... material, but for a EBU belt or IBO, sure why not. Sosnowski is prefect for those kinds of belts. Im having a good feeling Sosnowski will win too. The bookmakers don't like to favor Sosnowski since his loss to Lawrence. He was a huge underdog vs Williams and we all know what happened there. He looked pretty bad vs Lawrence, but I think his fight with Williams made up for that. Sosnowski is a huge underdog once again. 3.80 I bet 100$ snf I win 2.80$ Now, I dunno much about the other guy, id have to try and find some footage somehow, but throwing 50 bucks on Sosnowski isn't a bad betting point of view move. Its not like Sosnowski is a complete bum or anything, I think he has a chance.
Both guys aren't anything special. Pianeta was getting out fought by Scott Gammer until he pulled out, I had Gammer up by 1 round up until that point, and that was Scott Gammer using 1 arm. He doesn't use his south paw stance to his advantage, nor did he use his reach over Gammer. All he did was occasionally jab, occassionally throw the straight left and throw a lot of right hooks, and when he covered up Gammer still got through and his face was pretty swelled up after the right. He also looked soft around the middle, but I suppose most heavies do.
Unless something has changed that I don't know about, Lawrence still has yet to score a knockout in his career. He almost did against Sosnowski though, he just didn't apply enough pressure when he had him hurt. Anyway, Sosnowski is being fed to Pianeta. It's just a fight to get someone shiny on Pianeta's record. Pianeta probably won't be a champ, but he should be a decent contender, as a southpaw with good size and a little bit of handspeed.
Pianeta is not a bad prospect and I think he should be a favorite in this fight. The Danny Williams victory was the best of Sosnowski's career, but Williams was really faded from the fighter he was even a couple of years ago. Look for Pianeta to be too quick for AS in this fight.
