Sorry mate, Eubank never hated a living person. even he said hate is a childish thing and the very fact that he is not blinded by hate is the reason he triumphs over his opponents and as for Ali - Frazier, Ali said himself he would like his little boys and girls to play with fraziers little boys and girls or something like that. Barrrera morales tho fair enough. Besides Hate can lead to some interesting fights but its that same thing that ruins the sport. More people should take Eubanks advice and not be blinded by hate. I box because its a great sport in which (especially in your own gym) you feel like part of a team
Larry Holmes and Trevor Berbick Theres footage of a street fight between them "Bazooka" Limón and Bobby Chacón One of the dirtiest fights ever Joe Louis despised Max Schmelling and almost killed him in the rematch. Roberto Duran has always hated Sugar Ray Leonard.
Morales/Barrera beef is my favorite.. Morales hates him with passion and i understand where he's coming from cuz i dislike barrera too. Everytime they fought, I wanted Morales to put a heating on Barrera so bad. I wanted to see him on the floor bleeding..
seems to me moorer is still alittle bitter toward foreman, maybe not hatred but hearing him talk about the fight on the hbo special tells me he still isnt over it
benn and eubank are pretty cordial now. true hatred is pretty rare honestly, it's a lot more to do with pure ego and wanting what the other guy has.... vargas was a good example of that. he genuinely disliked delahoya - but only out of envy really and what he stood for.
How about about Michael Gomez and Alex Arthur. Now they definately dont like each other. Gomez brings Arthur into every fight he promotes and surely must have a chip on his shoulder about the fact that even though he beat him convincinly Arthur still went on to bigger and better things. Watching Barrera smack Morales in that press conference was superb too. That surely has to be the most heated rivalry of recent times
This is the Benn/Eubank vid with the classic quotes "I personally do hate him" and "Let's have some parliamentary procedure" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO-jsOiJfxs
Ali-Frazier was too one-sided. I don't think Ali ever really hated Frazier. As I understand, they started out as friendly with Frazier helping him out during his "down time". Later Ali was talking trash to promote the fights (and admittedly went too far with the Uncle Tom talk), and Frazier understandably hated him for it, but I don't see it cutting both ways. Vargas and Mayorga seemed to hate each quite a bit. But then again, they both seem to loathe all of their opponents http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SxgDXA4xXA Mayorga's comment and Vargas reaction at about 6:20 is one of my all time faves.
