Boo, I know you're a big fan of Pav, but even the negotations between Sauerland and Arum are no argument in favor of a fight Pavlik - Mora. Mora simply isn't the right opponent. I know you can say the same about AA's last opponent, but I find it really boring that Pav will fight a guy who lost against the guy who quit on his stool.
They need this mora fight at stanbaugh stadium at ysu. put aa/forest as the co main in youngstown. split that with a duddy fight on ppv. A night full of middlewieght action. pav fans will get a good look at aa. Then get duddy/sturm on the under of pav/aa. Winners fight. titles unified. pav takes all.
Agreed 100%. I don't wanna hear that Pavlik is fighting anyone @160 other than Abraham. This fight is ridiculously overdue. And Mora of all people ain't no substitute.
Both Pavlik and Abraham are fighting meaningless fights . . . I know . . . but I understand that this fights were just preliminaries before they fight each other . . . so I'm not upset. . . . if the promoters would put these two against dangerous opponents then the projected super fight between the two might be jeopardized.
Seriously, I wondered if it would be feasable to at least make it a split venue. I think Arum may be onto something there.
I have to disagree with the "ridiculously overdue". Of Pavlik's 5 fights he has had 3 mandatory fights. Lockett was 6/2/08 and you really can't start the clock until then. So #1 and #2 look like it will be about an 18 month time frame for the fight to happen. Not so bad in a sport where fights only happen every 3 to 4 months max. I think that is the problem. Just too long in between the fights we want to see.
I suppose what makes this seem worse is that many fights that should get made NEVER get made. I can understand from Arum's actions why people are getting nervous about the prospect. That and Abraham's weight issue. I suppose that accounts for a lot of the reaction. But, Pavlik wants the fight. Abraham wants the fight. What people don't want to believe is that the public at large really doesn't care that much.
I'm blaming that on the promoters who are calculating how much is gonna end up in their pockets. :yep
I thought Arum was being a real dick by putting this fight on. Now I think that aslong as Pavlik retires the latin fake all will be right with the world :yep KP by monstrous ko in the 38th second of round one.
