I have him no.7 at the moment but a good case could be made for him being 3. I wonder where Ring will put him.

I have him no. 8, and have no problem seeing him as high as no. 6. I think having him break into the top 5 at the moment is a little much, though... With PBF, Manny, Winky, the Marquez bros, and B-Hop all around.

    Put this is another thread.

    I'd say at least #5

    1. PBF
    2. Pac
    3. Winky
    4. JMM
    5. Hatton
    6. B-Hop
    7. Calzaghe
    8. Cotto
    9. Rafa Marquez
    10. Taylor/Mosley

Talent-wise agreed but I think this puts him above Calzaghe in terms of quality of opposition, especially recently.

I have him splitting the Marquez brothers at number 4.

I know that puts me in the minority, but the may I see it, if he beats Cotto, then he's three, if he beats Mayweather then he's two. So four is a comfy spot for him.

I think he burries Cal p4p. You have to take his achievments into account friend, and I wouldn't even have Cal above Ricky in that department if he beats Kessler. They've just followed different career paths - Hatton's has seen mow through the game's second tier plus two world class fighters - Calzaghe's been campaigning two slots below that, with one world class fighter.

I think he is a tad overated, yes. Though i do have him at 5. I actually think he's the weaker of the two brothers, although most have things the other way around.

I can see him at 4 easily. His wins over Kostya & Castillo has gotta be more than a match for JMM win over MAB & Rafa's win over Israel & Johnson+Austin.

I disagree. JMM IMO has tougher comp than his brother. Whereas Rafa has A level fighters to deal with, JMM has HOF & ATG's. Had JMM got a hold of Morales & MAB early (possibly beat them) and got the nod over Pac, we can all very easily see him as no.1. I guess Rafa has had less hiccups than his bro.

    On skill or achievement?

    On achievement he edges Cotto.

On skill he is just outside top 20.
