Anoyone comparing Hatton and Ruiz is deluded and a bit silly. How many Hatton fights have you seen ? How is he in any way similar to a light hitting ,boring, slow , unremarkable HW ?

Mayweather been over in Uk for training so that shouldn't be an issue either way.

Not sure how much of a factor southpaw stance will be but you right it has troubled hatton in the past

probably loads of fighter that have been bothered by cuts but obv depends on cut and where. Diaz never looked the same after cuts to marquez and campbell (and rjj after cut to calzaghe tho was shot and gassing)

I personally think roach has become a bit of a trash talker recently and not sure how i like it. I think the rivallry with mayweather snr has made him say a few things he wouldn't normally and he may regret it.

On a side not i think this fight is about 50/50 but weirdly wouldn't be suprised if the result is quite 1 sided either way.

    How is that?

On this site loads of people are brilliant (waaaay better than me) at assessing clash of styles and how people fight etc. but i think a big factor that doesn't seem to be mentioned enough is the mental aspect and the ability to impose a game plan on the other fighter. that for me brings hatton back to a 50/50 for me, plus pac's lack of experience at the weight.

Am torn, as a brit would like to see hatton win but as a boxing fan want to see pac-fmj (fmj easy tho) but more than that pac jmm 3, pac win better for boxing

I think so too, either Pac will outbox Hatton or Hatton will walk down Pac. I don't see a "to and fro" fight TBH.

I'm a fan of PAC but Hatton is the king of 140lbs. I don't know where people get the idea that Pac is favorite here?! Hatton never lost at 140lbs that's why IMO PAC may be #1 p4p but he is still the underdog here.

That is why this fight is interesting.

    #1 P4P VS the King of 140lbs !!!

    MAY the better boxer win!

It's not going to be an easy fight for both of them. I'm a PAC fan and I think
    he's going to win!

Don't put too much stock into those "brilliant" minds.

Personally, I think Manny is a touch better of a ring general than Hatton. This is a subjective opinion, and it's a little swayed by Hatton's lack of success at 147. The fights in the end were far from conclusive, but for at least half of the 24 rounds with Marquez, Manny was able to speed up and discombobulate one of the best pure technicians of the last ten to twenty years. I don't feel Hatton dictated to PBF at all, and Collazo had plenty of moments where he nullified his pressure.

This debate will rage until fight night, but I feel the first adjustment in this fight will have to come from Hatton. Manny isn't going to get bulled out of there, he's too well schooled, too sharp of a puncher, and too determined of a fighter. The reason why I can't count Hatton out though is that I think at this stage of his career, and with Sr. in his corner, this won't be his only plan.

Maybe it's just hope but you have two absolute warriors here, one with the better skills but the other being an expert at the weight . Manny will hit Ricky more often but Hattons punches will have more effect. Both want to win this so badly, loads on the line for both. Makings of a classic.

    It'll probably be ****.

yeah i feel you, not saying this is the most important aspect (anyone who has seen the average boxer in an interview knows they ain't no brain surgeon) but think having a corner formulate a plan an being able to stick to it is rarely ever factored into peoples predictions on this form (general forum). fact of the matter is the better technical fighter does not always win.

i agree pac better ring genral at this point, thats why mayweather snr a bit of an X factor for me. can he come up with the right plan fot hatton to beat pac? can ricky stick to it? these are as big a questions as any for me in the build up to this fight.

very intriguing fight whatever, looking forward to it!
