Set up a fight between Vitali/Vlad Vs. Chambers and it will be proven that Klitschkos are superior to Chambers, by far!!!!!!!
He is probably out of his shoes against either Klitschko brother, but that doesnt mean that Chambers is just an average fighter. He can hold his own against a lot of good fighters out there. Not every heavy weight can be an undisputed king of the hill ruling the roost from above.
He reminds me of Chris Byrd. Has some great skills but should melt down to cruiser. Problem is that heavy is where the money is.
now he should defeat some European fighter before he'd get to the Klitchkos. Maybe Dimitrenko, Maskaev. Or some of Bidenko, Sosnovski level at least, if he has some second thoughts after Povetkin's fight.
I can't believe these guys are leading the way for American heavyweights:|I like Arreola, but to realize Arreola and Chambers are the cream of the crop for US heavyweights.................it's a gloomy day for our heavyweight division.
Chambers is a likable guy. I wish he would just lose the 20 pounds of flab around his waist and fight at Cruiserweight.
Chambers is a very frustrating fighter to watch. He has good skills. Fast hands a good jab, a good chin and good defense. He pisses me off by losing focus and not working enough. He could have outboxed Peter with ease but instead he was inactive.
I feel the same way. If Chambers would have let his hands go more the fight would have been a shutout or almost a shutout. If I were a fighter I would never leave a fight to the judges as we have all seen how they will rob fighters in fights. Chambers left himself open for a robbery by fighting the way he did.
IMO Chambers didnt let his hands go because he was worried he would GAS like he did against Povetkin... the extra weight is killing him, yet I think he would get blown out if less then 220...he needs to go to CW where the weight wont hurt him and he can let the hands go without gassing by round 5
Chambers has skills, no doubt. He has issues staying focused in fights... seems he gets bored in the mid to later rounds, it happened again against Peter. This may work against ESPN tier type of competition or against a non active fighter. It would spell trouble against either of the Klitschko's or anyone with activity (reference fight against Povetkin). That weight he is carrying is clearly unnatural for his body frame, at least for professional boxing. I am not sure he is really running 5-6 miles a day. So much cardio plus sparring would make it hard for him to keep on so much weight, especially since its not muscle and is a lot of it is fat. Only other thing I can think of would be if his diet is completely horrible + genetics. He seems like a smart guy, I presume he would be wise enough to have the right diet.
