Norton had a bad night against Foreman. He put on great performances against Ali and Holmes. Foerman hits harder than Wlad and I think that other than power their style are not very similar. Wlad does everything behind the jab and Norton is a master tactician who will find a way to get past that jab just like he did at times against Holmes who even has a better jab than Wlad.

I strongly recomand you to watch Holmes - Norton and Holmes Shavers.Holmes is a better boxer than Wlad, handspeed, movement, jab. Wlad fights a bit too robotical for the natural skilled Holmes.

    I'm more Holmes fan)
But i can see wlad wining this one and i can't see Larry knocking wlad out. But if it is 15 round fight i can say that Larry has more chances.

Robotic.... Who said that it's worst or better? Wlad bigger then shavers and bigger then norton. His handspeed is really fast for guy this size. And yes!!! He bang harder then norton and maybe harder then shavers(i actually don't bellive in shvers biggest puncher of alltime).

Posting here does not make a whole lot of sense, but I always wonder how people are constantly overestimating "the old greats". In sports, where there is a objective measure of performance, like in track and field for example, there is no such silly discussion - no one talks of the 70ies sprinters as being the fastest - look at the times and you see why. Of course everyone knows why todays sprinters are faster - better nutrition, better training methods etc. But in boxing its the other way around - a 210 lbs / 190 cm Holmes (or Ali, or Norton, or Frazier or insert your name here), a cruiserweight by todays standards, will surely knock out an 245 lbs / 200 cm Klitschko who is always very well conditioned and quick. Food for thought... IMO the only HW great who would be a big favorite against Wlad is Lennox Lewis. Against Holmes: Wlad on points - probably an easy win, comparable to the first fight with Byrd.

 Your'e fricking nuts. Holmes was ten times the fighter Byrd was. Hell, forget Holmes verses Wladimir. The Witherspoon that fought Holmes would have murdered Wladimir. Hell, for that matter Cooney would have given Wladimir all he wanted and more. I would have bet on Cooney in the fight.
Other fighters I would have bet on against Wladimir. Earnie Shavers, Ali, Foreman, Lyle, Quarry, Bowe, The Buster Douglas that beat Tyson. Hell, Ruiz or Holyfield would have challenged him. Lewis beats him flat out. The list could go on forever.

You can't compare boxers with sprinters. Today, young people tend to do other sports than boxing (football,basketball...). That was different in the past. Also, see that guys like Holy,Toney,Hopkins, Jones still hold their own at 40 or more.

Like I said, Foerman and Holmes did very well against world class opposition from later generations.
