Is there a heavyweight fighter today that could give us a fight like Foreman vs Lyle?

Foreman Lyle will be hard to beat. It all depends on the match up.

that was an excellent fight by any standard, and, interestingly, ike and tua were in one of the last really memorable non-toughman-contest-like slugfests in the division.

i thought owen beck v. mone barrett, four or five years ago, was an excellent fight, full of bloody drama, swings of momentum back and forth and contested at a fairly high, fringe-contender level. that fight, despite being nationally televised, really went under the radar.

i saw that fight and thought it was excellent. tough back and forth action throughout until the dramatic late stoppage. however, neither skelton nor rogen is much of an athlete or tactician. i mean, don't get me wrong, these guys are tough, strong, hardcore battlers, but it seemed to me too much of a wild swinging affair to really elevate itself to a certain status.

It was as pure a brawl in boxing as you will ever seen. It may not be skill, but I'll be damned if that wasnt a punchfest at its finest. In terms of sheer powerpunching entertainment, Its the best HW fight I have seen this decade by far.

I think Arreola could do this.

Also, Vitali/Lewis rematch would have been a remarkable classic war. But, that is if Lewis would have been able to avoid a KO the entire fight, and stay in the war for 12 long complete rounds. I think we are starting to understand the reasoning why Lennox didn't want to fight Vitali again, especially with all that money on the table. Wars are hell...

100% agreed, i also always cite this fight when it comes to slugfests with lots of momentum changes.

I also don't believe that any ref would allow the fight to go on as long as to have such a great fight nowadays(with the exception of may be smoger)The refs nowadays stop the fights earlier than the older days.

Up and down with big punches????

Haye vs. Arreola. Someone's gettin sparked in the first five rounds, and the winner will be hurt too.

It was an awesome bout and I don't think many heavies would fight mano a mano like that.

Give em credit though cos Lewis and Vitali did!

Golota v Sanders is better than the majority of the other fights mentioned.
