This guy tore up the beijing games, and has a pro style to boot. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything.
i asked the same question about a month back.. i think he's holding out for a world amateur championship, he has olympic gold, and is a european championship... just needs the world..
Whoever is a true box aficionado is impatiently waiting for Lomachenko's decision. The classy Ukranian was THE outstanding fighter at the olmypic tournament in Beijing/China. He is probably one of the 2-3 best fighters on our little planet-whether they are amateurs or pros.
Someone needs to offer him a very good deal and put a very good professional team around him. I just feel bad about him not turning pro after the gold. He should've. I hope he doesn't want to spend the majority of his career in the amateurs.
Maybe he wont even turn Pro. That will be a disaster and pretty much stupid. He wont be able to earn so much with his brains like for 2 fights with Pacman
Lomachenko was offered crazy money for turning a pro. Still he sys nothing definite about his future plans while still tending to stay at unpaid ranks.
He could turn pro with the Klitschko brothers and their promotion. Damn! Any promoter out there must be chasing him.His exciting and entertaining style is made for the pros.He is fun to watch, can punch, and has charisma. He has the potential to be a superstar in the paid ranks.
Does anybody have any idea why Lomachenko is so pensive about turning pro? If I was so talented I would be killing to make the big money in the paid game. Gamboa vs. Lomachenko in the pros :scaredas:
its sounds strange . i was also very surprised at kenny egans desicion to stay amateur as he would have made millions , an irish olympic medalsit fighting out of new york ! instead hes on 80,000 euros a year to stay am . WTF i no what i would have taking
i think he will turn pro after the World championships this year.hes won the Europeans since Beijing and i have a feeling he wants to win the world title to complete the set improving on the silver he got 2 years ago.I cant see him staying amateur and another factor is that professional boxing is probably more popular in Ukraine than any other Eastern Euro country. The sucess and appeal of the K brothers has given their best fighters so much impetus to go pro and follow in their footsteps.K2 promotions is gonna do a great job within the next few years develeping the professional infrastructure for guys like Lomachenko to step into the paid ranks which probably wasnt their 10,15 years ago. if he does go pro then he will be one of the most talented accomplished amateurs to ever do so and imo is ahead of De la Hoya and Mayweather were at the same age and stage.
You are probably right in saying that pro boxing is more popular in Ukraine than in any other country of the former soviet union or in any country of eastern europe thanks to the great job the Klitschko brothers have done in and outside of the box ring!
